  1. First time I see them at GM in pics is in the '62 Pontiacs. Cadillac, Buick & Olds didn't have them that year. I've always associated the 'crotch coolers' with Pontiac.
  2. Part 3, one can click around at get the article series in order : https://www.curbsideclassic.com/automotive-histories/cold-comfort-history-of-automotive-air-conditioning-part-3-post-world-war-ii/
  3. American cars, which pioneered automotive A/C, actually started with the ducts in the rear, as the units were trunk-mounted. I believe it was Pontiac in ‘58 that debuted the underhood A/C and then; dash ductwork. I realize that’s not what you meant. I believe the Cadillac Series 75 had ceiling-mounted HVA/C ducts by ‘66... but again- not a conventional family sedan.
  4. I don’t want to pigeonhole myself; 100 is good, too. ?
  5. Boy, ain't that the case here!
  6. One of these ramrodded by me on the highway today. USSV Rhino, starts at $230K. Based on Ford F450.
  7. Prolly why I never see any. Or maybe it’s ‘notice’.
  8. Fargo ND 1939 :
  9. I would enjoy some petite blonde dates, very much. Petite but -I think the term might be- ‘stacked’.
  10. I suppose the 'Blonde Date' above could go either way: 115 lbs or 150 lbs. Mark my vote permanently on 115.
  11. Segment seems to lean hard toward retro : Wrangler, that toyoter FJ, now the Bronco. Seems to work.
  12. Eh; Wranglers are cardboard boxes, too. The look tough but I hated the one I was in a few years ago. But I'll give the '21 Bronco the benefit of the doubt that it's more user-friendly than a Wrangler, and for sure Ford will have the upper hand on customization over the Jeep. Hopefully, a lot more modern AND capable. But this is not a segment that interests me- never been an off-road guy.
  13. I never cared a lick for the original Bronco- it's a cardboard box. Would 1000 times have taken an F-100 over it merely on styling alone. RE the '21; I've only looked at a few pics here, would prefer to see it in person. But I think it's a LOT better executed (again: stylistically) in '21 than the '66 was in '66.
  14. The more rake a windshield has, the exponentially more obscured your forward vision is. The geometry of a more & more 'horizontal' A-Pillar, coupled with tough roll-over standards, really impedes on the safety factor.
  15. ^ If true, that certainly leaves the barn door WIDE open to greatly cheapen / cut corners and make/rake in profits. Daimler is especially feeling that sort of pressure- will be interesting to watch.
  16. I wonder, because basically all they're buying over other choices is perceived image.
  17. No. Vehicle. Reaches. Number. One. In. Sales. Volume. (your metric) Based. On. Horsepower. Rating. Alone. PRINT THE ABOVE OUT, HANG IT ON YOUR CUBICLE WALL. READ IT EVERY DAY.
  18. 6x6s have been done with every brand truck, forever.
  19. Let me get this straight. You have a company building the #1 product (your metric: sales) for SEVENTY-TWO YEARS, selling 800,000 to sometimes 900,000 units.... and you want to put your money down AGAINST them??????
  20. Getting a 'big nissan' vibe from the lucid SUV. That, and a yawn.
  21. ^ Pretty big black eye for the 'best or nothing' company. The image damage will ripple for years & years.
  22. Buddy is working on a Buick GS350 coupe, I think it's a '70 (no grille or emblems currently). Has it primered & running well, burns fat tires well. Beater muscle car is the plan.
