Ooof; all that black unpainted plastic & body cladding on the MB is rough on the eyes, hopefully there's a trim that eliminates most of that crap/finish. RE: the I-6; mercedes is only building them as a cost-saving move to share tooling with their 4-bangers. 117 years and no I-6 @ Cadillac; I strongly doubt it's remotely being considered.

Regularly searching local dealership sites for Sierras/SIlvies- very scarce still. - - - - - If one happens to ever read the Wikipedia entry for 'Pontiac Catalina' and notes the passage that states 'over 3.8 million were sold', this is where that tally came from; I added up the years it was a model series and edited the entry. BTW, I've seen conflicting info on whether the Cat made a 1 year return for '83, but the production total I saw is inconsequential either way WRT 3.8 million.

We have sales numbers on the PHEV BMWs (pathetic) - would be interesting to compare 2017 full-year diesel sales to current year PHEVs. I suspect a lot of diesel customers are NOT going to switch over, and it's going to be a significant net loss.

Just looking at the original window sticker of my wife's '87 Mustang. LX hatchback, 2.3L/ 4-spd auto. Base MSRP : $8690, destination charge : $374, as built : $10,512. The 2.3L Mustang then had 90 HP, now it has 310. 2.3L/auto then was rated 22/28, now it's rated 21/32 - not much of a bump considering 31 years and 6 more gears in the trans. MSRP sure bumped tho.

In looking at nearby dealers '19 stock, 100% are the 'double cabs'. Fairly typical practice to produce a popular body style exclusively in a new generation, before bringing the many variations online. I was looking for crew cabs and didn't find any yet. It's very very early in production. EDIT :: Sierras seems to be a different mix so far. Local GMC dealer has 4 NU '19s; all crew cabs/short boxes, 2 Denalis, 2 SLTs.

Olds in this time period (well; the '70s into the '90s) tended to make very asymetrical dashes, where the passenger side not only was distinctively featureless, but much less physically space-occupying. I never cared for that; IMO a car is X wide and that is obviously embraced everywhere else, so to 'chop out' the pass side of the dash somehow 'goes against nature'. And here; the Riviera is even MORE so.

Don't say that! Between heat waves or rain or work, I haven't had the COE on the street this year! Want to take some regular days off and putz around with it. Hell, I'll drive it in winter as long as it's dry out and not horribly cold (no heater).

Are you actually looking at pics of the X2M interior? It's entire audio/HVA/C piano black section is a twisted, melting, off-centered trapezoid, and the center console isn't even integrated with the dash. The pieces look like leftovers from a dozen different interiors, somehow made to fit with each other. It's NOT attractive or modern.

After buying in 2016 and 2018, once again my household is easing into the search. Time to send my wife's Malibu down the road. Started doing some research and Sunday lot-creeping... but haven't made a list yet.

It certainly will work in a number of scenarios, just as it won't in a number of others. It's never going to be a 1:1 exchange, at least not in the near future. Going back to my anecdotal example, the guy's company has 2 trucks. His only parking at the store is on street or across the street in a lot; no place to plug in. And even if his business allowed for a relatively tight route and a BEV delivery truck offered lower maintenance costs, 1. the purchase price would invariably be significantly higher, and 2. he loses whatever discount he gets when buying 2 trucks at once at the same dealer he's dealt with for years (35 years in business). It still remains to be seen if a BEV truck has widespread appeal considering 1. usage limitations, and 2. purchase price. Look at the Bollinger- he's hoping to come in "well under $100K". like, maybe, $80K. The Workhorse EV pickup is supposedly going to start at $52K. These are not small business friendly prices. I can ask him what he roughly pays for a Sierra with a box on the back- it's obviously a fleet/commercial purchase because they're regular cab 3500s.

I switched the assembly up; going to thread the screws into the half washers and insert them from inside, threads pointing up. Will use nuts/lockwashers on the top. Already fit it, it'll work. • Ordered a high volume mechanical fuel pump capable of handling 550 HP. Have all my hardware and a Teflon-lined braided fuel hose, 20-ft of it, to plumb to the engine bay. Have to now fabricate a fuel return line to the tank, so a bit more work there. Eager to permanently install the fuel tank. • Also ordered 1 7/8-in 'shorty' headers. Have some apprehension any headers are going to interfere with the steering box, so when they come in, will reinstall the block & heads and see if I can bolt the headers on. If they fit, or if minor 1 or 2 tube modifications are necc, then it's on to fabricating the dual exhaust system. • New universal fuel sender, modified to fit, and catalog pic of headers:

In my specific example, it wouldn't for the guy. He leaves to head there at something like 3AM, and there's no charging at the site. Most places are not open that early. I also don't think he stays there for anything like an hour- IDK but I believe it's far too busy there for that. Doesn't matter; he's old school and I'll bet money he has no desire to even consider an EV truck.
