  1. Instead of the cruze or regal (both of which are good vehicles) I would look at the malibu..its in its last year of production and yet its probably one of the finest four door sedans out there... I drive either a 2008 corvette or CTS with 304 hp and AWD and in my opinion the Malibu is an excellent vehicle... I like the 177 hp 2.4 liter motor and the deals on the Malibu are insane right now for such a fine vehicle. Rather than get the regal....tell your sister to get the malibu...and just up the mileage to 15k for a few pennies more... I realize its not the latest GM vehicle like the cruze or the regal but its still an excellent vehicle.. Good looking and very nice to drive. What can I say...except I was impressed...I think it lands between the regal and the cruze in payment.... if not very close to the cruze...(more incentives I believe because its not a brand new design) Don't tell your sister....just show her both the cruze and the malibu... White or black malibu is a good looking vehicle too..or pick the color your sister likes and show it to her. That would be my choice ...Best subsidized lease deal out there...IMO
  2. cool wife! Nice car! Best of luck with it.
  3. That 2001 Chrysler Concorde LXi for 3 grand is an awesome buy. What a beauty and that front end is truly stunning. 80k miles is barely used. Best of luck with that nice car. JB
  4. Thanks for the great podcast. I always enjoy listening to the show. Not sure I always agree with all the insights but I certainly enjoy them. Looking forward to the next show! JB
  5. Definitely a Z3 coupe look a like. Ferrari is getting ready for the upcoming porsche 928 built off the panamera (SP) chassis... I'd rather loose the head room for the occasional rear seat passengers and get something a little more coupe like than this new ferrari... At least its a striking shape... Good bad or ugly...its certainly different.. I hope it sells for ferrari.. Definitely bizzare which in and of itself is kind of cool.
  6. thanks for the insight.. I appreciate the highs and lows that you found. I look forward to the GS
  7. http://www.autolinedetroit.tv/journal/?p=13606#more-13606 What a great show! Bob Lutz is so focused. So on target with specifically what this industry and specifically GM needs to accomplish to be successful. I have to say while watching the show I was overwhelmed with each and every point made during the discussion. Its taken me three times of listening and I am still learning more and more about what Bob Lutz’s statements contain. I really am looking forward to June when I can buy Bob Lutz’s new book “The Car Guys vers the Bean Counters” The Battle for the Soul of American Business. The passion and balance of the Ying and Yang! Gotta love it! JB
  8. Matts a good guy and trying hard. Not a big fan of that little 2nd gear only track test but at least they are trying. Top Gear USA is bit too campy for me so far. I'm sure it will get better as time goes on. Shorter segments...and more segments that are testing data ... A little less of the segments that are totally goofball. I realize thats top gears deal but I believe it needs a little more stig testing of various vehicles and a little less filling oldsmobiles with water or driving with as many sodas around a track.. Its a bit slap stick to see the fiero roll down the grade and into the cutlass..etc.. Some joking around is great...but too much can be counter productive.. Motorweeks a fine 30 year veteran of Television but its more like an infomercial than testing of various vehicles.. How many of you can really state which vehicles motorweek panned in one of its road tests? Its very rare which is why it gets a bit of an infomerical status.. I enjoy the show but they pretty much like every vehicle they test.. JMO

  10. Matts cool as was the show but a track that never required a shift out of second gear ? I do think the show will be a hit!

  13. Whens the next autobird podcast? LOL Justin...what car did your family settle in on? BTW...the MB SLK does come with a manual transmission.. I enjoyed the podcast but awaiting the next one.. You need a new co host? I'm available to cohost... That last show was good. Now produce the next one.. thanks in advance..
  14. 8 grand for a 20 year old car? Offer him a grand or two or move on... I'm sorry but 8 grand is insane... JMO (and I like the car)
  15. 300 hp v6's are acceptable ... I believe that the Mercedes convertible does come in europe with a v6. I personally 320hp v8's are outclassed in todays hp crazy marketplace.. 390 to 430 hp V8's..are in a range more acceptable today. 475 to 550 hp are an exciting proposition for the XLR and XLR V
