GM RWD Update: FWD Impala remains, Zeta to merge with Sigma
Change is difficult, but change GM must. It hasn't been like I haven't warned y'all. I've been hinting at this for how long now, remember Tick-Tock? We talked about this on the phone twice, how many months ago, and when the G8 came out, didn't I say get them why you can? It's not 1970 anymore and GM is not sitting on 50% market share any longer. The times they are a changing. :AH-HA_wink:

GM RWD Update: FWD Impala remains, Zeta to merge with Sigma
As I type this, selected Holden engineers are being moved out of Holden, to throughout the rest of the corporation and in particular to GME. The official reason is to strengthen the GME product homeroom that is/are designing the EP II's and other GME platforms, etc. Yes GME is making money and will continue to do so and grow its market share. Unemployment for me? Please don't make me laugh. Next year, I can retire if I so wish, if I do, I have a job offer on the table already from BMW, however I am very loyal to one man in particular at GME, and I don't see me going anywhere, unless it's to GMNA with him. :AH-HA_wink:

To tell you the truth, I'm torn between a Cadillac or a Saab for my next personal car, especially with Saab going EP II.

GM RWD Update: FWD Impala remains, Zeta to merge with Sigma
That's because GM is about to rip Pontiac's RWD performance persona from the brand. You should be hearing more on that soon.

GM RWD Update: FWD Impala remains, Zeta to merge with Sigma
I think you might be surprised by how little Zeta there is in the new platform. It will be way less than you think. As for Alpha, I don't see it being developed in OZ. I don't see a Pontiac version of Alpha either, however I do see a Chevrolet version of Alpha, the next generation of the Camaro should be Alpha if my Magic 8 ball is working correctly! :AH-HA_wink:

GM RWD Update: FWD Impala remains, Zeta to merge with Sigma
If that were the case, then Sigma would just die. GME & especially Cadillac didn't want that to happen. Zeta being a superior platform, well that depends on who you talk to. It is cheaper to build though, I will say that. Sigma is the superior platform but cost to much to build. The logical solution was to merge the cheaper to build Holden platform with the superior Cadillac platform to get the unholy 3 way love child of (GME, GM Holden and Cadillac). Cadillac whispers in GME's ear to get what it wants or needs. GME listens to Cadillac because they need them to produce quality vehicles for Europe. Well at least it will be interesting to watch what happens. :AH-HA_wink:

Business Week: Which Auto Brands Should Go?
CPF will never let Saab die. Also my understanding is Saturn will be/is being moved into BPG, just in case a brand should die. :AH-HA_wink: The Saturn dealerships will stand alone for now, but internally they will report, for a lack of a better word, to the same brand manager as BPG.

GME and Cadillac are the best of friends, so you I think you should be able to tell who will develop it. :AH-HA_wink:

What should I do? I found a car, but it might not be for sale...
That's a beauty, color is very similar to my 69 Pontiac Custom-S which is midnight green.

It's 1973 all over again
As you know the previous generation is much beloved by me, Ed Welburn hinted to me that there may be some designs coming in the future, that harken back to that type of bodystyle. If so, I wait with anticipation in seeing them.

Spied! Some Damn Purple MPV
To me I see shades of the old Dustbuster minivans that were produced in the 90's at the Terrytown plant in NY. I think it's that large vent window just before the door that does it for me.

Why thank you moltar, that's one of the nicest things you've said to me.

I wouldn't have the time or resources to do that right now, as I am living out of a suitcase. I will be back in Switzerland at the end of May. My suggestion would be to ask Pontiac Historical Services ( http://www.phs-online.com ) if they have the ability to do that, they have a team dedicated to them, and they would have the data resources to pull from. If I understand you, you want to see the 73's with the chrome bumpers like I have on my 69 Custom-S. I read about them doing that but that was a long time ago.

It's about time GM started to promise new models to only UAW Locals who are willing to play ball with GM. There are Locals that are very hostile to GM and there are Locals that go the extra mile for GM, those that play ball, should be rewarded for their loyalty and their plants kept open. Those that don't, well those plants should be shut down. :twocents:

In case you haven't figured it out, I work for GM, so of course I know Holden's generation codes. I also know where Ellemere Port is just as I know Vauxhall Motors is headquartered in Luton, never been there either and have no plans on ever going there. My plans this summer include a trip to Scotland, where my niece is getting married to a Scot, his family is very active in Scottish independence, I'm interested in seeing that up close, so it should make for an interesting trip. Oh by the way I'm driving there, I will be in a HSV GTS, which has been modified somewhat to include the steering wheel in the German driving position. It's bright red, if you can catch me, please be sure to say hello, I shouldn't be hard to miss, you will hear my engine before you ever see me. :AH-HA_wink:

Well I don't speak for all here, but from the looks of some of the post in this thread alone, I'd say that has happened already. If that was your goal, you have succeeded with flying colors (colours). Try not to fight with the Americans to much. I bid you a fond adieu. :AH-HA_wink:
