  1. Well now that stamps went up, the Postal Service may have a renewed need for your SWAT skillsets, although I think the Postal Service may outgun you!
  2. Just so you know!
  3. Here is what's scary to me, Mick Jagger is older than my dad!!!!!!
  4. I love this magazine, does anyone else read it? Here is what this months' looks like. http://www.pontiacenthusiast.com/
  5. I once had a local dealer come up to my mother-in-law and try to sell her a full conversion van. He was so drunk that he just reeked. I had to tell him about 10 times my mother-in-law was not interested. So he says to me I think she is, to which I replied, she doesn't have a driver's license. I've never ever gone back to that dealership since.
  6. When GM was about to bring out the N platform Chevy Malibu and Olds Cutlass. 10 of us flew out to the GM Oklahoma City Plant. We get to the plant and take 10 cars 7 Chevy and 3 Olds cars with camo. We drive them in a convoy from OK City Plant to the Wilmington Plant in about 3 days (we stopped at night to sleep). After we get to the Wilmington plant we take them for 2 more days of driving around South Jersey through Vineland, Cape May and Atlantic City. That was one of the best times I had at work, it was fun to watch the people point at us as we drove by. I was in the last car and it was a Chevy Malibu. People would ask what are they as we refuled, we would never say. It was a great road trip.
  7. We thank you! Now get rid of that Chrysler license plate of 666!
  8. This explains so much about you in so many ways!
  9. Sure it does, It's going to give buyers of the Lambda a less costly version to pick from. The more choice you give the customer on price is always a good thing. Giving Chevy a version will get the Lambda in more customer's hands and do it faster than Saturn will be able to do with it's limited dealer network. Just in sheer numbers of dealers alone Chevy should outsell Saturn and maybe even GMC altogether.
  10. Funny, blah blah is what I think when you post anything! Do you ever have anything good to say about GM and it's products?
  11. Ummm, this is not a Bill it's a Directive. It is part of his Executive Powers as the President. He's not breaking any rules or laws by doing this and just so you know, I'm a Democrat! If Congress doesn't want this, they can just introduce a Bill to stop it, if he vetos it, they can override his veto. That's how the system works.
  12. So did you get on?
  13. "Delicious rumors of a new Toyota Supra continue to make the rounds in Tokyo. Word on the street is that Toyota is planning two versions, using the recent FT-HS North American International Auto Show concept as a template." The main version will receive an improved version of the 3.5-liter V-6 from the IS350, producing 330 brake horsepower, and will be aimed fair and square at the next Nissan 350Z. However, if the grapevine is correct, Toyota will also do a V-6 hybrid using a ramped-up version of the GS450h powertrain on a shortened rear-drive platform. This one would pack 400 bhp. Few would doubt that the hybrid variant is really the car Toyota wants to build, because it’ll be something new, fast, clean and green in the sports coupe segment, and a new image builder. But the 3.5-liter, which will be at once lighter, more affordable, and less complex than the techno-heavy hybrid will be the main commercial player. 14. The chatter about BMW acquiring Volvo from Ford started in earnest a couple of weeks ago, and has gotten much louder in the last few days. Neither BMW nor Ford will comment, but apparently sources within Ford, BMW, and Volvo have confirmed to various news entities that Volvo is in play, but there is no consensus on where Volvo will go when it leaves Ford. Some say Volvo will go to BMW, some say it’s going to a private-equity firm, a la Chrysler/Cerberus, and some point to VW as a dark-horse contender for the company. And, of course, it may not go anywhere. Although it’s worth pointing out that we predicted in December 2006 that Ford would certainly sell Jaguar, Aston Martin and possibly Volvo in calendar year 2007, and its only May at this point. We’re still sticking to our prediction. Back to BMW – will they buy Volvo if Ford wants to sell? That’s a tough one to call. The debacle that was Rover has not receded into BMW’s collective memory at this point, and Daimler’s public embarrassment with Chrysler is awfully fresh as well. And BMW already has high-line sedans and SUVs. But, BMW would like to get more scale in their operations just like anyone else, and, Volvo is a healthy car company with good growth prospects no matter who owns them. They are not a reclamation project (Rover), nor are they susceptible to their product mix becoming irrelevant due to a changing market environment (Chrysler). Volvo is launching 7 new models, starting from 2006, and ending in 2009. It has market shares of only 1-2% in its strongest markets, Italy, Germany, U.K. and the U.S., suggesting there is still quite a bit of unrealized potential (safety and quality sell almost everywhere) to be had in those regions, as well as others, since Volvo sells their cars in over 100 countries. And, of course, it has approximately 20% of the market in its home market of Sweden, a relatively small market. I think BMW will seriously, seriously consider acquiring Volvo. Ford bought Volvo for $6.5 billion USD in 1999 and if they don’t ask too much of a price premium in the time elapsed, BMW may be a player for the deal. I’m sure there are people at BMW, shouting “no more pain!” and there is another group shouting “grow or die!” and the biggest group of all is in the middle, saying “let’s think about it some more”. We’ll see who can build consensus in the next few weeks or months. Link: http://www.autosavant.net/2007/05/bmw-to-buy-volvo.html
