A common problem with the new Civic
Enough to make Audi switch to LED DRLs. With the Ford Escape Hybrid, headlamps run off the 330v hybrid battery until it's drained, so they do make an impact on fuel economy.

Dealer on new Malibu:"It's going to be a home run"
Hopefully it's a real hybrid, to take on the Camry.

2007 Cadillac DTS loaded
I'm sure there are countless other instances where people have made countless excuses for piss-poor material quality, styling, and basic ergonomics on interiors of domestic vehicles by saying, "It drives wonderfully." OH NOES!@@@~!~ I'm sorry, I can't control what others have to say about some foreign car. On a happier note, the updated interior isn't blast-able.

Saw ads in the Sunday paper today... new STS-Vs are going for "$8,000 OFF MSRP!!! 3 AT THIS PRICE!" And brand new normal STS are going for $34,999.

Hope it's a Jag XK that hits you. Let us know if the pyrotechnic bonnet works.

Same problem with the old SRX, too. It's a great car for enthusiasts because of the engineering, but to average folk, nothing about the economy car interior says "luxury." The dynamically inferior Enclave will probably do much better than the SRX.

That's a shame, because it drives very well. It's too bad most people notice the interior before they start the engine. I guess that's the point of remote ignition?

Chrysler Dealers Still Loaded with 2006s
The 300C's interior plastics aren't horrible, but the sheer quantity makes it overwhelming. Most interiors have a diversity of materials that break up monotone slabs of molded plastic; the LX interiors don't. The door panels have no cloth or leather inserts, and the high beltline (sitting-in-a-bathtub effect) doesn't help. Overall the Lucerne's interior ambiance seems richer, IMO.

A common problem with the new Civic
I hate how they prevent me from doing 720 spins when I hit the brakes mid-corner.

The people who like Lucernes and DTSes -- those who prefer absolute luxury over sportiness -- are the sort of people who'll buy LS460s.

No, wait, 5/100 powertrain warranty, too. Sweet. All it needs is sat nav.

Ditto the side impact beams. I took those off, too.

I'm back in a Pontiac
What about moving the seats forward? How bent are your knees when pushing down on the clutch pedal fully?I'm 5' 11" and found the Aura driving position fine... but then I usually scoot the seat forward more than most.

Why the hell would you want that?

That's very compelling... I'd take one over a base ES350.

Probably because after 2 years it'll be worth $35K.

GM exec: Hummer needs new models
Agreed. The last thing we need is another 6900 lb, 8 MPG H2 redesign.

A common problem with the new Civic
I've noticed that people don't cut me off as often with DRLs on. And, yes, I've noticed Accord, RX350s, and other cars that have electroluminescent gauges without headlights at night. When you've been driving all day, particularly in well-lit urban areas, it's easy to forget. AHS is great for tunnels, too.

NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries
EXACTLY. Synthetic oil works great on a CTS-V, not so great on a human being.

NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries
Well, since trans fats kill an estimated 50K people/year, and NYC has 2.8% of the US population, that's 1400 lives saved?

It's Official: Commodore coming to US as a Pontiac
Agreed. With a different grille people could mistake it for an S-class.

430 horsepower. That's why.

NYC mulls ban on trans fats in eateries
This isn't about moderation or having a balanced diet. It's about unknowingly taking in a harmful artificial substance, whether it's from salad dressings or cookies. Trans fats should be banned in the same way DDT and CFCs are. Obesity has nothing to do with this.

Wow, that's very reasonable... about the same as a traditional midsize sedan.
