  1. It will be believed whenever it shows up, as a matter of course...
  2. GM needs to match and beat the Germans in engine quality in all ways to make good headway, otherwise along with the loss of competitive models this just adds another deadweight to Cadillac.
  3. If it takes Chinese, Indian et al currency to bring more variety to the market, then that's what needs to be done, especially considering how companies like GM just keep bringing out mediocrity...
  4. Envious? Oh, nothing of the sort by any means, but any further words on my part wouldn't be able to fit this page for reasons more than one...
  5. If the corporate raiders could liquidate the pensions for these UAW yahoos, hell that would be a party worth throwing for reinvestment opportunities... :AH-HA_wink:
  6. At this point it may be better to let the Gordon Gekkos of the world eviscerate all the unions, for seeing some real structural change is much better than letting people feel entitled to perks while the majority get stiffed by comparison.
  7. The stand-alone Cadillac dealers are better left stand-alone, and the sooner Caddy dealers match German lux dealerships like they do in China then things will improve moreso than they have already.
  8. Algae based biofuels would be an excellent proposition to reducing fuel costs and environmental exhaust emissions as well, the sooner someone gets it started, the better things will be for vehicle choices.
  9. I'd like to see engineers in charge for once, instead of the beancounters/MBA types that are too damn common..
  10. The latest info on the 4.5 diesel seem to show quite a number of impressive qualities, if GM gas engines were as innovative as this diesel, Toyota wouldn't have much of a leg to stand on there.
  11. This DOHC engine could really help Caddy assuage concerns and criticisms over the Ultra V8 cancellation.
  12. There had been rumours of a SB DOHC setup, but not much info on that.
  13. For the lux buyer, DOHC is worth the premium, of which GM needs to pay attention to.
  14. And the AMG 6.2L V8 puts out 510 hp and weighs less than the Corvette V8, and is DOHC to boot.
  15. It's times like this that it would be better for GM to drop kick very last one of those damned POS pushrodders into the ocean and replace them with proper DOHC engines, just to show they can match whatever the competition puts out with similar equipment.
  16. The fewer parts Caddy shares with any other division, the better it will be.
  17. If that's the case, then lux buyers are much better off spending their cash on Euro products instead of a POS alsoran.
  18. V-8s are absolutely critical in the luxury market, and Caddy needs some type of exclusivity to work globally, or it will be a dead duck.
  19. F*** GM if that's the case, Toyota becoming numero uno would be a far preferable outcome then.
  20. GM better come out with a DOHC V-8 to beat the Germans with, otherwise it will be full of fail and stupid.
  21. It'll take a while for the new diesels to show up on NA Caddys, the Ultra V8 can't come soon enough, and more lightweight materials need to be used, but the interiors are on the right track.
  22. Wolfgang Bernhard would have been a great Lutz successor, too bad he's unavailable having to help fix Chrysler.
  23. Again, the CTS best needs the DOHC for better product differentiation and marketing, this really helps when looking at HSVs and such.
  24. Giving the CTS-V a DOHC Ultra V8 would also help differentiate it from vehicles such as the HSV line of vehicles, as many Holden fans consider the CTS to be nothing but a glorified Holden instead of a true luxury vehicle like BMW or MB. This is where the different technical approach can pay off significantly, especially in other parts of the world.
