  1. An institution has been lost. Condolences to his family.
  2. Makes me wanna take a road trip of this beautiful country.
  3. Ideally I want that, but I discussed the less ideal scenario.
  4. There is an S350 V6 that produces measly 272 hp. So yes this is an S class competitor. If you dream of Caddy being global then accept the fact that this Caddy will have smaller less powerful engine. BMW has 740i in USA that produces dinky 318 hp. With your analogy, S350 is also a Bumdai competitor with a weaker engine.
  5. I hope GM is watching the development of these vehicles very closely. With Code 130R concept already in place, it should not be a big deal and time to turn the car into reality to give the ToySciRu triplets stiff competition.
  6. Omega will probably realize Caddy's dream of having 7er and Bentley competitors. I see three may be four body styles. Per C&D there will not be any non Caddy on this platform. Buick may get its flagship from Alpha.
  7. Camino Reluctant, eh?
  8. V8 + manual..... My midlife crisis has already started Honda CR-Z

    What would you do?

I would go with Lucerne as well. See if you can snag a CPO. Not only does GM offer fantastic extended warranty, you could possibly get a small gain in insurance savings.

I have never seen a car with such a dual personality. It is live-wire yet composed. It is fast yet can be sedate. It is loud and yet it is quiet. It is the most schizophrenic car I have ever driven. I had fortune of driving C6 Z06 thrice for short times previously but they were all tracking persona. More I ease into it the more I see how Jeckyl and Hyde the car is.
  11. What's next, 20% stake in Suzuki, 20% stake in Subaru, 50% stake in Fiat? I think GM is scared about the cash in its coffers being eyed by other companies especially the investment firms.

Thank you. You certainly will. It took me 8 years to finally own one.

So true. It purrs at 1,350 rpm in 6th at 45 mph and gives 34 instantaneous mpg!

  17. With the new Z71 appearance package consisting of body colored bumpers, the 2500 HD Chevy looks actually better than the GMC IMHO.
  18. 2014 Avalanche??? No Colorado??????
  19. This. Actual conversion can be had for sub $1K if the "need" from EPA did not exist.
  20. So basically Porsche and Audi are going downmarket and upmarket simultaneously and them compete with VW, which wants to expand as well. Sounds like path that GM took to failure earlier with brands saturation.
  21. Yes this screamed luxury as well. Look at the clubbed baby seal leather and electronics in the dash.
  22. That is a good news.
  23. If Honda can keep its pathetic truck running with an annual sales of less than what the Avalanche had, I see no reason for GM to discontinue the truck. GM as usual stopped marketing it and let it rot. The problem with Avalanche was it was over priced compared to a Crew Cab by ~5,500. That is a lot of money. With more expensive and volume trucks being its platform mates, with diesel and more efficient powertrains this truck could certainly be viable.
  24. Lost the mojo after losing the 6-speed manual. The older one with stick shift was ridiculousness over a ridiculous vehicle from Porsche, and hence was ridiculously desirable.
  25. FT-86 went in design late 2007 and the production ceremony was held in March 2012. Yeah that is 2-3 years. Rather 2+3 = 5 years. VW Up concept was shown in 2007 and still is not in production. Yeah that is 2-3 years. Again rather 2+3 = 5 years.
