  1. Who needs an airbag? Thanks. Basically, a tune up (carb work, most likely), fluid changes, some belts, some bulbs, and perhaps some fuses. I'll probably find out more once we go to get it inspected. It'll be for all of us to drive, but I'll probably end up driving it the most for the time being. So far everything seems to check out. It drives well except for the engine cutting out at times, but it's getting better the more its driven. I took some more pictures, but its raining out. I'm going to wait until the weather is nice to take more pictures, but here are a few to tide you all over.
  2. That wasn't worth reading. He's a ho.
  3. Good luck, Sattilicious.
  4. Both of my neighbor's sons own 90's Grand Cherokees and seem to love them. I once had a few "acquaintances" with regular Cherokees. They sure do rust, as you said.
  5. *hides from the ugly*
  6. As Chris mentioned, you may want to add 100k. Perhaps a paintjob, some wider wheels/tires, an extensive engine cleansing... and a CD player may be in its future.

    Pictures!

I dont know why, but I bust out laughing upon reading that.
  8. No comment.
  9. After I finally finished cleaning it up. It got dark as I finished, so these pics aren't of the greatest quality. I'll have better ones for tomorrow:
  10. You would be correct, Sir. It's a 1984 Cutlass Supreme in Dark Maple Red Metallic. It comes complete with a 307ci 4 barrel V8, 2.14 rear axle, limited slip differential, bucket seats, rallye wheels, AM/FM radio, and the coveted vinyl top. Bought it for $450 from the original owner. It's been sitting for over 2 years. Included, was the original window sticker and all the manuals, guides, and brochures. It needs a tiny bit of work, mostly in the form of a tune up as it cuts out at times. My dad tried to clean the carburetor a bit. The vinyl roof is pretty tattered, as well. The paint, originally looked quite faded, but after 4 hours of washing and waxing (oh, are my arms and chest ever sore), it doesn't look too bad. Not nearly as shiny as the other vehicles in our driveway, but enough so not to look flat. There's a few rust spots, but nothing too major. The interior is pretty much spotless, save for the cracked steering wheel and ghetto shift knob. Most everything works. The exceptions being the A/C, the third brake light, and the power antennae. On the road, it rides with a jittery float. The brakes are mushy, but stop decently. The steering is about as numb as it gets. Power-wise, it's not the most powerful thing there ever was, but it has decent torque. It's not what I'm used to, but it's not bad. Fun, in an odd way. Now onto the pics... a few detail shots: Working on it in the driveway: The difference a good wax job makes:
  11. I'm not going to let out too many details at the moment, but me and my dad are going to pick up a car tomorrow. I'll give you a hint: It's RWD, a GM product, has a vinyl top, and is older than I am. I'll fill in the rest once it's in our possession. I'm anxious to drive this beastalicious piece of machinery. --------------------- What it is, info about it, and pics in post 14/15.
  12. This thread is just too much *gets up off the floor, wipes tears from his eyes*
  13. I don't see it and think you're nuts... Fair?
  14. Or... perhaps you're just blind. Honestly, now. It looks like a modern, upscale 3 interior more than anything. Fem? I don't believe anyone said it was amazing. The 6's isn't the most unique interior in its class by any means, but everything looks right, not forced, and certainly upscale. I can't say that about most other midsizers' interiors, including the Malibu. Take away its unique color schemes and its nothing more than semi-curvy dash with a cheapie center stack and lack of details. Oooh, its soooo special!
  15. The Intrepid was pretty competitive in price, power, efficiency and size to a W-body.
  16. I'd easily rank the Chrysler LH cars and Honda Accord above them. That's not to say they were bad cars at the time, they were good values with power and styling, but better than anything else they could possibly compete with? Perhaps in your own personal ideals.
  17. Try a high-end used dealership.
  18. Ermm... They had their virtues in styling and power, but best overall? That's reeeeeaaaaaaally pushing it.
  19. I nearly fell out of my chair!
  20. Malibu, Accord, Altima, Camry, Aura... Meet your doom. That is definitely one good-looking sedan, hatch and wagon. Sexy.
  21. Alfa is my automotive savior.
  22. Well, that would first require getting another car for my mom to drive to work. On a side note, it books for $6400 with its current mileage according to Nada. Even more with KBB at $6800, yet the lowest trade in value is just a tad over $2000. Insane. Oh, I'd love to just push it over a cliff, let me tell you...
  23. I would have to agree. Well, this was more hypothetical than anything. There are currently no plans to sell it. I got to thinking last night about how it seems to be a better car than what it really is and was just wondering what a reasonable price would be if it came to that. I don't enjoy being dishonest with people, but what choice do we realistically have? My parents have already been drained enough because of it. It's to the point where putting anymore money into it isn't financially feasible. Taking a huge loss on a vehicle they've put so much money into isn't something they can afford to do either. They are not exactly bathing in money and I'm not in any position to help with my own issues to take care of. I hate seeing my parents stuck with yet another piece of $h! that is the equivalent of flushing money down the toilet. They can't seem to get ahead financially and this doesn't help any. They don't deserve this. If there were a way to get out of this without having to resort to misrepresenting it and not having to take such a huge loss, it would be nice and certainly ideal.
  24. As i've previously stated, I'm not mad and there's no chance of me going away. I'm 3.5 years above you, here. Haha. Yes, please ignore CMG's hypocrisy and immaturity and continue on with the thread. Another vehicle I could add to my runners up list would be the original 73-75 Grand Am.
  25. Funny, I didn't know laughing at one's personal opinion was adding to the thread... *raises right eyebrow, scratches chin* Hypocrisy and immaturity. Oh! What a combination!
