  5. I've found that 50-60 is the sweet spot for gas mileage in these cars. Atleast with the auto.

I hate the front, but like the rear.

  9. Truth be told, I haven't gotten any sleep since Monday night. Last night I was out and about taking pictures from 1 to 3 am. Thus, you have I-80:
  10. Oddly enough. I was just thinking of that exact situation a few miles down the road as I passed another person mowing their lawn. Lo and behold, it happened.
  11. Unfortunately, we didn't realize how bad of a hit it took until we arrived home. I was expecting maybe a little ding. Insurance will cover it, but had I known, I definitely would have stopped.
  12. With a rock. As I was driving along, I passed by some guy mowing his lawn down by the road. Next thing I know... *thunk* ...and my Mom ducks in shock.
  13. I haven't driven a manual equipped Cobalt, but stiffer = better. That statement can be used for many, many things and is always true. Good luck with the new Cobalt, Reg. Be glad you didn't get the slushbox.

Last time it was inspected, it had about 13k on it. I would hope they weren't worn for GM's sake.

Pictures pretty much say it all. The insides were sh!t, especially the driver side where the pad is pretty much nonexistent. Outside of each rotor was fine... with even the pads still having decent life left in them. I find it odd how there can be such a vast difference between each side of the rotor.

Aaaaaaand I just got word that I most likely don't have a job anymore as of Saturday.
  20. That's distracting, even for me. I keep staring...

I took a quick look at the left side rotor and pads. The outside looks decent... the inside is all f**ked up. I couldnt see much, if any of the pad, and the rotor looks like only half the pad had been contacting the rotor.

It never dipped below 40 degrees F here. I've heard about N-bodies and their ability to eat brakes. I was hoping something had changed since then. Obviously not.

Wow! I never would have guessed. Thanks! I simply find it odd that it happened so suddenly. As mentioned, they hadn't even squealed up this point. A little roughness had developed recently, but nothing that made me believe I'd lose my brakes in a matter of maybe an hour. I'm also amazed that the factory brakes were only able to make it to 37k.
