  1. What the hell? Yes it does give you that sense of that stuck up part of town, which may be what they are going for but still. If it is a good solid vehicle people will be interested but you had bette nail marketing with this one. Come on Buick give us what we want. Ill take my GRAND NATIONAL in any color as long as its black thank you very much.
  2. Three cheers for a guy who did a great job with the Vette.
  3. I think when negotiations start there will be some concession by Delphi. You always start really low to allow for negotiation. Im not saying delphi will change much but they will change some. We will see over time what happens.
  4. Well the sooner the newer technology circulates to replace to the four speeds the better.
  5. Interesting, not too much of a standout though in my opinion.
  6. That would be a BIG improvement. The front end of the lacrosse tries too hard to be too many other cars. Give it a Buick family face and you have really moved in the right direction.
  7. Unless they can get GMAC back through some kind of put option, GM shouldnt sell your only money making operation in North America. That makes absolutely no sense to me. I know they need to regain a strong investment rating but that is insane.
  8. It looks that way to me too. So i guess from head on the big trucks will look a lot different.
  9. If this is how FIAT represented itself, I would pay billions to get away from it too.
  10. Isnt there a point where you want to hear what is going on outside?
  11. Interesting read. Since they are saving the Escalade for last, it had better be the best by far. So far it reads like it will be a winner but we all have to see it to believe it.
  12. Dont get me wrong, I like the car. Add a six speed and its really ready to fight lexus. But I think its time that we read and actual test drive instead of someone reading the info and telling us what we know.
  13. I refuse to blame the unions for the entire debacle that is GM but they do have a significant part in it. GM became stagnant with their designs and in the thinking that they would be on top forever. By not reacting to customer designs wants then you cant compete in the market. Now with that said, the UAW needs to realize it would be infinitely cheaper to build everything in some low wage country and import it. They have to make concessions in order to keep GM, and thus their jobs, alive. I wish I could get some of the benefits they do. One way or another there will be resolution to this situation. By the way things are shaping up, that result will not be a good one.
  14. Im glad he feels that way but it reads mostly as a GM sourced press clipping.
  15. I think a big help to the Malibu's sales is the freshening of the front end. It looks much better now without that huge bar across the front.
  16. I've said it before and I will say it again. In my opinion, the XLR-V costs way too much for what it is. Both of them are competent cars I am sure but in this (price) class, they really need to stand out. Cadillac needs cars that will soundly beet the imports in every category. Here's hoping that I am wrong and these two are real winners.
  17. I'm glad they are selling well but GM should not just produce all they can sell. That depreciates the value of seeing one. I just hope they dont ramp up all of this production capability and then after the initial hit no one is still in line to get one.
  18. I think the cars are nice but underpowered. I know the motors could use a bit more displacement. A longer stroke would help a lot in my opinion.
  19. $100K for the XLR-V? WOW!!! Granted its cheaper than a lot of its competitors but that is really steep. I dont believe they sell a lot of the XLRs to add that much more on top is a stretch. I would like a STS-V though. That price seems pretty good in comparison to the rest of the line which tops out in the mid 60s.
  20. Now if i could get the Denali Powertrain in a Tahoe, I would be happy. Tahoe SS anyone?
  21. I first thought that too. But I think there is a lot of resemblance to the Expedition too. The front end just doesnt do it for me. I may like it more over time but I like the old Denali more. But you know, I never did like the smaller GMT-800s, so maybe when the Suburban/XL pictures are released I will think differently. I do think the Yukons will be a big hit.
  22. I love the silver gauges and the interior is nice. Too much like the Tahoe though. On the outside, I give it to the Tahoe hands down. There is just something that reminds me too much of an Expedition. The old Denali/Yukon had more of a presence about it. But hey, maybe I am wrong.
  23. GM and other manufacturers buy so much from Delphi that by allowing them to go into bankruptcy would be viable as long as it doesnt slow part shipments. Bankruptcy from what I remember allows a company to shed a lot of burden from contracts in order to get the books back on track. Once that is done then new more equitable contracts can be negotiated. But I may be wrong.
  24. What happenned to the days when car guys, and girls for that matter, ran car companies. When did companies begin to think every business is the same. Im no expert but building mainframes (IBM) and building cars arent exactly the same business. Or did i miss something?
