  1. It is a bit of a porker, but what I find so wrong is that the point of a high-performance 4 should be it's superior MPG relative to the power it makes. That recipe fails here.
  2. Oh, but you can! Just ask Hyper about them.
  3. Oh, I dislike the Regal for other reasons to be sure. But it is this GS package that I find so disappointing. It just doesn't measure-up.
  4. An even better example of why I'm critical of the GS.
  5. Real-world MPG in LS1 f-bodies regularly tops 30. If this car was outstanding in either power or MPG while remaining respectable in the other category it would be somewhat impressive. But it doesn't do that.
  6. Cool site you linked to. This pic is awe-inspiring:
  7. When it is outdone in both power and MPG by a ten-year-old LS1, that's just weak in my book. Spin it any way you like, but that isn't progress. As I said, not impressed.
  8. ...what new vehicle introduction has impressed you?
  9. That little thing has one ugly mug.
  10. Clearly, Cadillac needs something above, and something below, the CTS. And has for quite some time now. Escalade has about run its course, XTS is a left-field entry, SRX is a fad. They had better get crackin'. Still, I wouldn't call the brand dead.
  11. Still not impressed.
  12. Yup. Been a champion of this idea for some time now.
  13. I would end truck-based Cadillacs.
  14. Ugh. Hate sedans. The El Camino isn't a "trucklet", it is itself and stands alone. It also sells itself, always has.
  15. Aero is behind the genericism we live with today, I'd rather it took a backseat to design from time to time. As for the GS, it is the full package that interests me about the car - not simply the look. It's a great story. None of which inspired me to post the link, however. I posted it because I found the restoration process to be over-the-top stunning. I do like that the owner intends to take the car vintage racing as well.
  16. I don't know about you, Hyper, but I'm glad that the understanding of aero wasn't up to modern standards back then. Just think of all of the beauty we would have missed out on over the years.
  17. Yeah, still a false premise. GM made money on the 04-06 GTO. As for the Ute, they have the capacity to build at most 10k of them - selling that many would be all but automatic. That, and the fact that there would be near -zero investment required to bring it here makes your concerns on that front moot.
  18. That is odd, they were the purest expression of Duntov's vision for the Corvette.
  19. Check out the restoration process they went through to obtain the second incarnation of the car. Totally fascinating.
  20. ...the five original Corvette Grand Sports after you buy it? http://www.grandsportcorvette.com/gs/gs002.htm
  21. I'd love to see your work again, Lance. Glad to see you checking in.
  22. This is a no-brainer, pull the damn plug already!
  23. Well, they've never been #1 here.
  24. Wonder how they'll feel about #3 or #4...
