  1. Good addition to the list, Z!
  2. A first draft of possibilities: GTO Mustang Challenger G8 GXP Camaro Vette?
  3. A Mustang would be a real departure for me, but I suspect a bargain. No on the CTS.
  4. I'm thinking that it will be at least a few more years before GM builds anything that I just can't resist. So, after I clear the decks and unload my current fleet of projects, I'm guessing that I'll go after at least one more "fun" car of recent vintage before a new one is likely. The thing is, I have no idea what it will be. I'm not talking about a classic or project car - just something fairly new and low-mileage that I will enjoy driving when I don't have to drive the truck. Another GTO might work, but I'm not married to that idea. So what do you think would make me grin from the used market in about a year and a half from now?
  5. I'd take the same position on the interior. I get what Chazman is after, and why. In fact, I would have been happier with a new Chevelle on Zeta and an Alpha Camaro. But the Camaro is still a major achievement during some otherwise dark days. And it can righfully claim "best Camaro yet" without reservations.
  6. Agreed. Less is really more when it comes to these cars.
  7. I understand language well enough to know that my usage of the words you call jargon is correct. Rest assured, as my argument is less a legal one than a philisophical one, I know precisely what I'm talking about. Sweeps of the sort this technology allows is like fishing with a net, it is indiscriminate and random. Your assertions of legal expertise are not relevant, this is a simple case of right and wrong.
  8. You are mistaken. I oppose those roadblocks for the exact same reasons.
  9. Actually, I love the 4th gen Firebird's design - especially in Formula Firehawk trim. What I don't like is when one gets all tarted up like the automotive equivalent of Boy George.
  10. Shock troops and checkpoints work too - want that? "Papers, please" So, say they check 700 cars and only find 1 violator. That means the other 699 have had their privacy invaded without probable cause. Sorry guys, I can't see this as a positive. I expect the cops to have a reason before they check up on anyone. Their time would be better spent stopping and ticketing someone who demonstrates that they are not following the rules of the road. It's not like its hard to find someone being an asshat on just about any road at any time.
  11. So, the ends justify the means? Dangerous thinking there.
  12. At the price you heard about, Hyper, my interest in this project would instantly vanish. I too, would build my own for a fraction of the cost.
  13. No offense intended, but that's a rolling nightmare of overblown tackiness.
  14. I know nothing about this product, but have always liked tinted taillamps so I give the idea a thumbs-up.
  15. Another authoritarian speaks...
  16. Nice job on the writeup.
  17. Never been much of a sleeper, and I don't do morning well. But I can usually stay awake as long as I need to. Snow plowing trained that ability. Now, I just don't sleep much at all.
  18. Looks black and white to me. Fishing technologies like this should not be used by law enforcement.
  19. That's the part I was wondering about.
  20. It doesn't matter if the driver owns it, or the bank does, it is still private.
  21. How did that happen?
  22. I'm driving it around and getting to know it. Picked-up the correct passenger side mirror for free from a C4C truck this morning, and started to figure out the aftermarket stereo.
  23. In some cases, and with informed consent, perhaps.
  24. Yeah, progress is good for my head.
