  1. I like the idea - generally. But I'm sure to dislike the price.
  2. The rear is here, now the fun starts.
  3. According to what I've found, it would be a mistake to use synthetic in any pre-'98 rears as it will eat the seals.
  4. You'd be surprised at the range of opinion around the net on this. I'm going with the manual, at least for now.
  5. If I still have it then...
  6. Thanks, Loki. A friend on another site just posted the '97 Tahoe owners manual and it calls for 80W90 GL5 gear oil and doesn't mention the additive. Hope that's right.
  7. Anyone?
  8. Which, of course, is way too late. I don't think that they intend to even try.
  9. GM has said that they were going after Pontiac buyers, I have yet to see any evidence of that.
  10. That's BS, and beside the point to boot. The thread is about what Buick can do to attract Pontiac buyers, and GM claims to be making an effort in that regard. So, where's the beef?
  11. In other words, GM isn't even trying to keep its Pontiac buyers. Though they claim otherwise.
  12. As you guys know, I'm replacing the rear in the '92 Blazer. The trouble is that it is a G80 locking rear and the debate over synthetic/dino oil and additive/no addititve is all over the place. After reading a zillion different forums, and talking to my friend at the Chevy place, I am no closer to a definitive answer on this. G80 is a build code RPO and seems to mean different things in different years and on different vehicles. So I need a definitive answer on a '97 Tahoe G80 (the donor car my new rear is from). Anyone have a manual for that year?
  13. Picking up the rear tomorrow morning, ordered the U-bolts today. Hopefully by Monday the Blazer will be functional again.

  15. Sorry 'bout that. B4C = Police spec Camaro GMMG = The Tuner company that built the 4th gen Camaro (and Firebird) supercars. The most notable being the LS7-powered ZL-1 version.
  16. All of the GMMG supercars were factory B4C cars that were sold to them directly for conversion. And a few new ones made it into private hands directly despite the "fleet only" policy.
  17. Yeah. But there were some B4Cs and 9C1s that made it out the backdoor without lightbars...
  18. That might be going a bit too far - even for me.
  19. Hard to get a sense of scale from those...
  20. I doubt the car will be hurt in any way. My Firehawk sat at their facility in MI for months waiting for SLP to be ready to build it. It arrived in perfect, new car, condition. These guys transport OEM prototypes and delivered all production Vipers, so I don't think you need to sweat that aspect of things.
  21. Then again, a free meal wouldn't be all that bad...
  22. I've always been drawn to tangible (real) things...
  23. Backdoor availability...
  24. Saw my first white Camaro in the wild the other day.
