  1. Well, a Zeta-sized car is just about perfect for my needs and taste - but a well-executed RWD pocket rocket would be fun too.
  2. Exactly why I stopped in to post about things. I expect the throwing-off of the government yoke to bring fine results. Hope that actually happens.
  3. I'm quite aware of that, and endorse the idea. Hell, at this point I'd settle for a few impressive concepts with production possibilities. An analog to the Solstice Coupe with RWD and a manual would get my attention.
  4. Well, I'm afraid that I find the current lineup to be quite boring. As for the rest of your post - yes please!
  5. Maybe I'll get lucky and the next Camaro will be drop-dead gorgeous enough that I can ignore the fact that it's the only offering from GM that might interest me. And maybe, Buick will sculpt a Riviera so slick that I'll be able to ignore the fact that it will be automatic-only. Or maybe the SS/PPV will survive on Alpha and offer a wagon I have to have. And how about a small alpha from Chevy below the Camaro that is a ball to drive into a corner. Show me something like that with an MSRP between 30 and 50K.
  6. No kidding. Got anything else? Buick coupe? Cadillac Coupe? Buick coupe maybe, if it ever happens. I'm sick of just about everything Caddy.
  7. If, probably, maybe. OK, two Cadillac sedans and so what? Let's even assume the Camaro turns out well. I'm still looking for some expansion of choice here, not merely replacing what is with new underpinnings. Show me something new and interesting.
  8. Perhaps. If they utilize the new platform as they should. That has yet to be seen - so far all we have is a Cadillac sedan. But there is great value in learning from the mistakes of the past - GM would do well to start such learning.
  9. The way I see it is that they flubbed every decision they made on Zeta - that is when they actually made a decision instead of tripping over their own thinking. There never was a cohesive. logical, or firm plan for an exceptional platform they spent a billion dollars developing. Everything was over-thought and under-implemented. And always oh-so-late.
  10. That may well be, but it hardly excuses wasting an entire generation of very good RWD cars. So many lost opportunities.
  11. The real genius behind Holden's cars is the variation and creativity they were able to generate from one single platform. That is something the rest of GM never learned how to do very well at all.
  12. Someone with power at GM must really hate the Zeta cars, that is the only thing that explains how badly they've been handled from the start.
  13. Like I've said before, GM has no idea how to market a car like this - or even who the target market is. If they did, it wouldn't be tied in with NASCAR, and a manual would have been an option.
  14. I see the lack of facts still doesn't inhibit you from posting stuff like this.
  15. What do they expect after stacking the deck against this car six ways from sunday? What fool is running marketing for this anyway? Mishandled from start to finish.
  16. Whew! Glad that's over. When does the Pontiac revival start? Oh, and I saw figures of something like $100 Bn. that a GM failure would have cost the government without the bailout.
  17. Bottom line is they should have done it over a decade ago. If they had a clue, they'd do it now when it doesn't require any development money and scoop up a few thousand more sales out of Zeta production. But they don't, and haven't, and even when they did, it ended up that they didn't. All BS all the time for many years in a row. So yeah, the final bummer.
