  1. The rules are simple: build what I want, or I buy from whoever does.
  2. Some perspective: http://www.cheersandgears.com/index.php?showtopic=27599
  3. Friday, January 9, 2009 Chrysler looks at car-based pickup Proposed changes to corporate average fuel economy standards could penalize small trucks. Alisa Priddle / The Detroit News Chrysler LLC is exploring entering a new vehicle segment with a car-based "lifestyle" pickup as an alternative to slow-selling traditional compact trucks. "What is needed is a lighter-duty, multipurpose vehicle from a lighter, more fuel-efficient car platform that allows the vehicle to be priced significantly different from what your full-size trucks are," Chrysler product development chief Frank Klegon said in an interview. The revelation comes as General Motors Corp. is killing plans for a similar vehicle: the Pontiac G8 ST sport truck.
  4. I still have a fair distance to go...
  5. I'm quite familiar with Longwwod, in fact I hold a Certificate of Merit in Ornamental Plants from their program. It was the one time in my life when studying was a joy rather than a chore.
  6. I have some neat stuff, and I'm not sure if I really want to do this but I am considering it.
  7. Yeah, long story there. But that's what I have been paying since I picked it up in late '04. The sad part is, that for a long time I was able to handle that and a payment on the GTO as well as upkeep on two Hawks and the rest of the fleet. Makes it tough to take.
  8. And each new interesting car is undermined by GM itself before it even debuts! The self-sabotage just disgusts me.
  9. No one is happy because GM is incapable of making a plan and sticking with it, they second guess themselves into irrelevance. At best, they are always late to the party. That's what's wrong with them, and what has shredded their credibility. Their word isn't worth spit anymore, thus my anger.
  10. The payments are brutal at about $700/month, something I can't justify if there is no business to support it.
  11. The way I'm looking at it is this: I've been fighting a war of attrition for years now with a steady stream of sacrifices ruining my outlook along the way. At this point, it just makes more sense to me to clean house and start over than to fight the losing battle. I just want to get on with it.
  12. Just kidding. Well, sort of. I'll be needing it for a while yet, but the payments have to go one way or another. Depending on what I decide to do, the truck may be gone before you know it. If I decide that my contracting days are over, it will have to go.
  13. That guy was just awesome! His film is a national treasure in my opinion!
  14. True enough.
  15. Sorry, can't forgive this one. And, no, I don't think the good stuff is ever coming back anymore. I just don't buy that old line this time. This is the end.
  16. I've done much the same, so I have a house and barn full of stuff now. I'm thinking that dumping it would be a form of freedom. As it is, the stuff sort of traps me here in two buildings that I don't own. The thought of ever having to move it all (especially on short notice) is a bit terrifying.
  17. ...to see how little "stuff" you could have? I'm wondering just how far I could take the concept.
  18. Long gone.
  19. Had one of the originals (and a bag phone too). They were huge, but they worked better than today's micro-models. And they could double as a weapon! :AH-HA_wink:
  20. I am seriously considering dumping most of my material possessions - they feel like a boat anchor around my neck these days.
  21. Thanks for that!
  22. Thing is, I need to make the room for such a period of reflection first. I'm in a tough spot at the moment and will need to shore-up the walls before I can leave them for even a minute. I'll get there.
  23. Yeah, but contracting has gotten to be beyond old. Public gardens are a possibility, but I'd like to find something completely unrelated and interesting.
  24. I'm looking for those answers right now, don't have them yet. Whatever I do, it needs to be something new.
  25. Amen!
