  1. Thanks Ocn, the current owner has a thing for skulls (he gets to keep them), and yeah, red isn't my thing either - but that's just a detail.
  2. Now you should 'fluff up' your current Tahoe, sell it, then flip this one for 2K more than you paid for it and go down to VA and buy that 3500 with the combined funds I can see the logic in that, but I've been on the hunt since June - I just want to find a good plow and call it a day! My green Tahoe is still one of the cleanest 2-doors out there (it's even cleaner underneath than the new one), it is likely worth as much as much as I'm paying for the '98 or more. I think that's good enough for me for now. I just couldn't make myself put a plow on a truck with 200k on it.
  3. Truck is really nice. Red isn't my thing, and I'd rather have barn doors, but this is the lowest-mileage example I've seen in ages. Had to snap it up since it will do the job (mostly), and was offered at a bargain price.
  4. Just made a deal on this: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3349000312.html
  5. Or on a different, lower-mileage Tahoe, perhaps? I had wanted to turn the Tahoe and the ROPOS into a single, decent, do-it-all truck - but the trucks are unobtanium in the current market, so maybe I'll go another route.
  6. I'm not sure that you could get a plow-prep package with the Quadrasteer, but yeah, it would have helped quite a bit.
  7. Any increased length in wheelbase makes a huge difference for plowing, and overall length doesn't help either. If you are doing large, open, parking lots the long trucks aren't so bad, but in any tight area they are almost useless.
  8. I may move forward with the truck and plow being separate purchases.
  9. I have a few other options up my sleeve.
  10. That is a nice truck.
  11. BTW, his claim that the plow is "nearly new" is BS. I know an old plow when I see one.
  12. Meh, he didn't counter-offer. I won't pay what he's asking, and I'm not too inclined to up my offer much. Thinking it over.
  13. Offer declined.
  14. Well, it isn't what I want - but I made an offer on the 6-banger. We'll see what happens.
  15. I do love how he put the "Invader454" decal on the air intake! EDIT: As a matter of fact, that truck is just about everything I've been looking for. I saw the ad when he posted without the pics and was interested, even more now that I've seen it. Too bad about the price, and the absence of a plow.
  16. The only one that would work for me is the pricey one. It would be perfect, but the price is way out of line. The others are just too long to plow with.
  17. Yeah, maybe. It really isn't what I need, so I'm just holding off a bit longer hoping to find a good 2500. None of the options (1500 or 2500) are particularly enticing.
  18. The HX was brilliant - I sure hope that it hasn't been forgotten within GM's walls.
  19. The other side of the coin, of course, is that I need another project like a hole in the head.
  20. Maybe the only thing to do is buy something like that 2001, and build it myself. When 2001s with 150k and more miles are going for $10-15k, this one at 5k starts to look good despite the spartan equipment and bashed panels. I wonder how tough it would be to add A/C?
  21. Now that I think about it, I do remember them on '69 Camaros - but not on '70s.
  22. Could well be, I admit to being Chevelle-centric.
  23. '69 and '70 Chevelle (and El Camino) SS wheels. I don't remember them on Camaro or anything else.
