  1. Always liked this bodystyle Roadrunner. Owned a '73 340 Duster - fun car. 'Cudas are just cool. For '74, this was a pretty nice lineup.
  2. I love the Yukon GT as well. Did you check out that pricing?!!

Emptied the rain gauge this morning - Sandy dumped 5.77 inches on us here. Spent the rest of the day doing cleanup - more tomorrow. Tired and sore.

Real glad to see you ok and back here posting, Balthy. This one was deadly serious.

Some of the Philly burbs are pretty rough, CC. The city itself seems to have done pretty well.

Wow! Those planes make me cringe. Samadei: Really glad you escaped being flooded, but that's too damn close of a call!

I'm betting that Balthy is still without power - Jersey's a real mess.
  8. I disagree, we will see better cars, the death of some of our own loved brands will free up dollars for the remaining brands to finally be distinctive. Color me skeptical...

If this had happened just a week or so ago, with so many leaves still on all the trees, this would have been a far worse disaster around here. Fortunately, many of the trees were already bare, or close to it, before Sandy got here. Lost maybe a half dozen trees on the property, but they ALL fell away from both the lane and the power lines. And the dam at the pond held once again.

I'm back. Lost power right after my last post, and just now got it back. My house is quite chilly... Damage much less than expected, and all of the trees that fell right here managed to fall in the right direction for once. Still raining with a gust now and then, and very chilly, but could be so much worse.

I actually fell asleep for a bit, and woke up to the BIG wind! Unreal that I still have power.

Trees are swaying now - power could go anytime.

Just walked Arkus - got soaked to the skin. I can see whitewater where I took those pics.

Yep. As long as it doesn't undermine the blacktop, it should be ok. But things have barely started...

Time to make my final foray out before the worst hits.

Stay away from Main st. in Manayunk - it will be one with the river before this ends. Rain/wind in varying intensities for the past few hours, lights flickered a few times - just getting started. Tonight will be the main event.

Pittsburgh should escape the worst of this altogether.

Time to get a shower while I still have hot water.

Wind-driven rain now, and the lights just dimmed.

Wind and trees are the biggest threat here as well, If even one goes down on the lane, so goes the power (for days). I suppose that the dam at the pond could fail, but it's survived some pretty intense rainfalls. If it does go though, that would be it for the lane for a very long time.

Glad you're ready, your side of the river (and the storm) is going to be challenging.

Looks to be a rough few days coming up. I expect to lose power sometime tomorrow, and be without it for some time. Good luck to all of us in the path of "Frankenstorm". I'll try to post updates until the power goes. Rain and wind are already picking up.
  24. Agreed on both counts.
