  1. ROPOS = Rusty Old Piece Of $h! The ROPOS is an '89 Chevy K2500 Silverado in dark blue and silver with a 7.5' Western plow The Tahoe is a '95 2-door LS in Forest Green metallic (has barn doors) Just got the '98 home - the pair of them look good in the driveway (pics tomorrow)
  2. Pics will happen - rest assured.
  3. I looked at one of those too, Cubitar. Low-miles, but a hopeless rustbucket.
  4. Rest assured that it will be well taken care of, but it could be a long wait before I'd sell it. Just found the perfect plow for it - a poly plow that will take about 100lbs. off of the weight the front suspension will have to handle. Just what I would have chosen for it in an ideal world, the plow was only used privately and garage-kept! Now to make the mad scramble to get the cash together and get this thing installed. Anyone need a ROPOS? Or a '95 2-door Tahoe?
  5. Sorry guys, sometimes I just like to experience the show without worrying about pics. i promise to take some next time. But some of you semi-local guys really ought to come see this show for yourself next year!
  6. If it were a metallic red, I'd have no gripe at all. As is, I'm ok with it - I just wouldn't have chosen it if I had the choice of an equal Tahoe in another color.
  7. I understand being sentimental about a car, but a mauled Neon just stretches the issue.
  8. Yes, actually these make great plow vehicles - they fit in places a truck just can't. They don't have the heavy suspension bits of a 2500, but with a 5.7 they can handle snow just fine.
  9. Very cool Roger, thanks for posting all of these. Looks like there was a fine El Camino delegation.
  10. Sorry, no pics this time.
  11. Glad my '82 Toro never needed a starter...
  12. Pretty damn slick!
  13. I hope some of you caught this show - lots of amazing stuff there (though the turnout was oddly low for such a nice day). Two real highlights were a '53 Buick Woody wagon that was simply stunning, and a very stealthy '64 Studebaker Avanti with a host of hidden performance mods - very cool! Some others: At least 3 8-bolt fullsize Pontiacs A perfect '57 Ranchero A pristine '87 Chevy truck (spotless, yet a daily driver) A 454-powered '53 Buick Convertible ( total stealth) A 348 Tri-power '58 Impala all in black An unrestored 1930/31 Rolls survivor being shown by the man who bought it in 1960! Tons more
  14. Good info to know! I'm used to "All - except El Camino" and "All- except wagon"
  15. Whoa! Glad she's ok.
  16. Thanks Drew, it is pretty nice.
  17. The HCCP grand finale show is today at Delaware County Community College in Media, PA. This is a huge event with cars from the brass era to today, and is laid out in tiered parking lots that are divided into categories. If you are within striking distance, you ought to make the trip. It is usually 700+ cars, and features a flea market. I'll be going at some point during the day. The event runs from now (10 AM) until about 3PM. I've already been seeing the classics cruising RT 252 on their way to the show.
  18. I needed a good laugh - thanks guys.
  19. And man! Did I ever resist temptation during this search! That '64 Camino really tempted me, and while I was test-driving the red Tahoe we passed a '70 Camino for $2,800! But the biggest temptation of all was a garage-find 1972 454SS El Camino in black for $4,500. It was all I could do not to call on that one, Factory console and buckets, been stored inside, pretty straight...
  20. Camino LS6

    Whoa

    Very cool!
  21. I'd settle for the days of Mutual Assured Destruction, and clapped-out musclecars going for about $1,500.
  22. Thanks Horse, I'll get used to the color. It's really nice to drive, a bit stiffer than the green one (Z71 package), but very solid feeling.
