  1. It'll be a while before I get any new pics of the ROPOS - too much else going on right now.
  2. Ah, I guess I got the year of changeover on the wheels wrong. Maybe I was thinking of the solid centers. At any rate, the earlier wheels don't look all that good, so having this style is a plus original or not.
  3. Hmmm.... at 18 I was driving a big block musclecar. I didn't wreck it. But it wasn't given to me. I pushed it, sure. But I kept it out of the ditch, and myself out of jail, and always got my passengers home safe. Maybe when such a thing is given as a gift, valuing it and the lives of those in it in proper fashion just doesn't happen? Having "everything" at 18 has to produce a bizarre mindset.
  4. Wheels are later than '92 - but most have been updated to this style. Probably a repaint, but that's not a bad thing as the factory clearcoat tends to peel. As for the stickers, I've peeled them from every new GM truck I've ever had within hours of purchase - they look so cheap.
  5. SPO label is in the glove - guy is just wrong on that unless it has been removed. I'm really not free on Saturdays, but if you decide to go, call me anyway. I might be able to sneak away. No promises, but I'll do it if I can. PM me for my # if you don't still have it.
  6. Both are really good examples of their year of production, and I'll get used to the red I suppose.
  7. Something like that.
  8. Can't.
  9. Fascinating specs. I do wonder about the fuel pump under the manifold thing though...
  10. Like.
  11. Basically the same engine from '87 to '95. I have one with 180,000 something, and another with 203,000 - both still doing their thing.
  12. ROPOS back when I got it. It hasn't changed much.
  13. I forgot to mention the pass. side airbag, haven't noticed the steering and trans changes. The '98 also has DRLs, and probably ought to have keyless entry (but all I got was 1 key and no remotes). Except for towing and leather, the '98 is loaded with options: push-button 4WD, Compass/temp mirror etc. Another difference is one I don't like: a tailgate instead of barn doors. Roger, I'll get to taking pics of the ROPOS as soon as I can. I think I have an old one that Ill post in this thread if I find it.
  14. Thanks guys. The "ding" on the green one is more of a scrape, I have no idea what happened there (had it when I bought it).
  15. Funny thing is, if they were both showroom new, I'd take the green one (more my style overall).
  16. Oh, I'll be selling it - no choice about that. But I was planning to correct some or all of the little stuff first. I'll PM my phone # to you so I can give you the details.
  17. Most definitely. It has helped me maintain 22 acres for quite some time now. The '98 shows Z71 and both show G80. I'll have to check the other codes, I know I have them somewhere.
  18. Thanks Ocn, just some quick shots I took before my coffee this AM.
  19. I'd say that that accounts for much of it, but I think there are different springs as well - these had optional heavy-duty springs available. The ride height seems a bit higher on the '98 (at least in front).
  20. No, that was the '92 full-size Blazer I had for a short time - if the '95 were a manual, I'd have a very hard time parting with it ('95 was the last year it was offered). No, it was a piecemeal refresh. Grille and lights in '94, interior and name change from Blazer to Tahoe in '95, and engine from TBI to Vortec in '96.
  21. A few pics here: http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/80281-twohoes/
  22. My '95 and '98 two-door Tahoes:
  23. The '98 has the Z71 off-road package and feels stiffer and more trucklike, the '95 is cushier and more carlike. There is also a touch more power to the '98 as it has the Vortec engine, while the '95 is a TBI 5.7. The '98 also seems more solid and quiet overall - driving them back-to-back was surprising. Nothing really, just stupid little detail stuff I haven't gotten to yet. I just don't think it wise to put a plow on a truck with 203k on the clock. Roger: soon on the pics Balthy: Very cool old GMC!
  24. The driving feel of the '98 is surprisingly different from the '95.
