  1. Welcome to C&G, Joshua! Thanks for posting this.
  2. "Babs' uvula is on the fritz" Can anyone name the quote source?
  3. Wow! It seems my powers of explanation suck. Now that we are all on the same page, opinions?
  4. Soft, traditional luxury really is Buick's territory these days. With that said, I expect that the DTS replacement will satisfy most folks in that Market as well. I'm betting that it won't really fit the mold of a BMW 7 or an MB S , but it will wedge itself in between much as the CTS does. Call it Cadillac sizing. I don't see that as a bad thing.
  5. Lighten-up guys! This is the beginning of the breakthrough. The rags are sensing a shift in the wind and acting accordingly. At first, it will be genuine (CTS, Malibu etc.) then if GM continues with successes, they will knee-jerk for GM just like they have for the Japanese. Truth is, GM is getting it so right with their new product that the rags have to acknowledge them. Celebrate!
  6. The Mustang and Lumina really don't have it, their A pillars look entire. The G8, on the other hand, has a cutline that is way up the pillar and interrupts the flow of the design. Yeah, it's a detail, but it isn't a plus stylewise so I'm hoping there is a functional reason for it.
  7. :rotflmao:

  10. Umm, no. The move to protect whales worldwide began here. Americans do not hunt endangered cetaceans (at least not legally). The penalties are extreme. Also the fishing industry is HIGHLY regulated in US waters, and the industry is trying to find ways to increase the populations of a wide variety of species as they see their future as depending on it. The Japanese, on the other hand, are the most notorious in the world for pushing whales to the point of extinction. They have resisted worldwide bans on whaling endangered species consitently for years. The days of US whaling really ended ages ago.
  11. If it is merely styling, then I can't say I care for it. The 4th gen Camaro faired-in side mirrors were one of the things that pointed me to the Firehawk instead back in 02. This seems to be in that vein. Edit: that high fender/ rear of the hood thing on the Camaro always made the front look like a ramp to me.
  12. I can only guess that it might : - slightly improve aerodynamics - slightly reduce wind noise
  13. Exactly, so there has to be another reason.
  14. I guess I just don't see that, empowah.
  15. Exactly my train of thought.
  16. But the cutline of the fender is much higher than the hood, I'm still puzzled.
  17. How so?
  18. A targeted, bomb-laden Prius attack on Sacramento?
  19. That's a mild example, More like this:
  20. Isn't that your job? :AH-HA_wink:
  21. Above, as in on the A pillar.
  22. The determining factor is that they wanted a "family" of RWD performance cars for Pontiac. You all know what I think should have happened, but I understand the thinking of the marketeers. Pontiac needs product the most, and I can live with that.
  23. SCCA FTW!
  24. Is there a reason for the trailing edge of front fenders ending high on the A pillar in recent car designs? Aerodynamics maybe? If it is merely styling-related, what do you folks think of it? I'll keep my opinion to myself for now.
