Interactive Review: 2012 Chevrolet Sliverado 1500 Crew Cab LTZ
GMTruckGuy74 replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Well, we know that in 2013 the all-new 2014 GM full-size pickups will be out and I'm sure you won't see any Y2K components in these new babies (just like you're not seeing that stuff in the rest of the new debuts GM has done already). Wth the new '13 Traverse and '14 Impala being shown, I'm more than certain they have some characteristics you'll see on the new '14 Silverado and '15 Colorado (or whatever name they'll call it). Just like the new Acadia is previewing what the Sierra will have in that familar tone, though we kind of got an idea of the new Sierra with the 2011 Sierra HD All-Terrain concept too (except the cab - that was clearly current gen truck with Cadillac Escalade door skins). The frontend and bed are what I expect previewing the '14 Sierra. -
I'd so be all over this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991-GMC-SYCLONE-TYPHOON-TRUCK-TURBO-CHARGED-CHEVROLET-91-GNX-GRAND-NATIONAL-/170816798655?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27c5797fbf I've always wanted one and came close in June '98 with a one-owner (elderly), low mileage, all original for $14k (couldn't get the bank to finance me )

I actually have the paperwork, decals and plaque that I believe went with #7. Whe I worked at a Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealership in '99, the top salesman sold #7 (I think that was the #) but the owner never came back for the car's documentation. He had it at his desk for two years and was about to chuck it in the garbage and got the idea to offer it to me when I made a big stink about getting one of the rare '99 30th Anniversay T/A posters and brochure (each dealer received 3 of those, as they were only getting one car - the firs set went to the buyer of the car, a set to me and the last set to the sales manager). Anyway, I still have this stuff and should look on some F-body forums to see what someone would pay (I sure could use the money on something else!).

New York 2012: SRT Viper: Comments
GMTruckGuy74 replied to William Maley's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
It's not bad, though really not my cup of tea (I was more excited about the debut of the '13 Ram than I was for the Viper). I will say I think they didn't go far enough to differentiate it from the last Viper, but I can see where it went new. I would be just as disappointed with thenext Corvette if it kept most of the last generation in its design. -
I need some help with a location in Ohio...

Thanks z, that's good to know. I'll have to see what flights go out there from Philadelphia International. Are you, or anyone else, familar with Young's Jersey Dairy? -
A new member of the family has come home...

Thanks everyone!! Buddy is such a friendly, well behaved and outgoing dog. We are truly blessed to have him in our lives. If you're new or don't recall, we lost our younger Lhasa Apso (Snickers, 8 years-old) in September to cancer. My 6 year-old son has consistantly asked to get a new dog, he took the loss really hard. I was worried our 12 year-old Lhasa Apso (Benji) would not take to a new puppy or eventually the puppy would learn bad behaviors from the older dog, but so far my worries have been unfounded. He has brought a new sense of joy to the family... my older step-son (soon to be 18) was standoff-ish at first, but yesterday turned around and now is visably excited about the dog as the rest of us. My 20 month-old daughter is the only one I know not overly thrilled with Buddy. He thinks her little feet/toes are great to nibble on, she thinks otherwise! When she sits on the floor he goes over and tries to kiss her. I guess she's too young to enjoy the affection he's giving, but I think she will come to like the dog soon enough -
Which is interesting to note seeing as how the Asian Chevy Colorado seems to borrow the current Equinox and Traverse frontend split grille theme and many have not liked how it plays out on this compact pickup. Maybe part of the wait for it's 2015 debut is a redesign to bring it alignment with the 2013 Impala and Traverse? I'm also excited for the NG Equinox to lose the split grille theme. Also, Is it just me or does anyone else see "Camaro" in the frontend of this shot?

If there are any Ohio residents (I only know of one, hyperV6) that can answer a question for me... are you familiar with Young's Jersey Dairy, on Route 68 in Springfield, Ohio? I ask because Vintage Truck magazine holds an annual classic truck show and I was wondering if it would be possible to fly-in to an airport close enough that I could attend this show.

Can you name the famous car that sported this hood ornament?

Sorry to your thread/article black-knight, but did anyone else ever notice how the '07-'12 basic truck dash looks like an updated '95-'96 C/K dash: Now back to the thread/article...

Bought our new puppy in Windsor, NJ on Sunday. After picking up the puppy I took a drive over to Perrine Buick-GMC (and Saab still, as he has a ton of Saab cars on the lot). Took numerous pictures of Sierras, but these two caught my eye (too bad I didn't win the Mega Millions lottery Friday night): 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab 4wd's in Stealth Gray Metallic: SLE SLT So, anybody want to buy me an early Easter gift?!?!?!

I do like the Buick symbol/logo placed on the C-pillar, and the frontend shot (!!!TED!!!'s reference to LeftLaneNews) appears more truck-ish than the outgoing model; however, backend looks like a big ol' round (undefined) butt and kinda "meh" to the outgoing model. I'm thinking my new preference order for 2013 is Acadia, Traverse (still need to see the rearend in person), and Enclave (conversely, 2012 order would be Enclave, Acadia, Traverse).

Great article, black-knight. It was very entertaining of a read and I enjoyed your non-truck driver take on a pickup as a daily driver. In comparison, this is pretty much GMC's equivalent of the Ram 1500 Express: That truck there stickers for over $24k and offers the 4.3L V6 engine with the 4-speed auto trans. GM really needs to step-up the game with their new 2014 full-sizers. Ram definitelty is cornering the niche market with their current line-up of pickup truck models.

I would like to introduce to you all the newest member of my family, Buddy: He is a Shih Tzu and was born on January 27. We found him Saturday night at a puppy store that is owned by the same guy that we bought our other dog, Benji (Lhasa Apso) from 12 years ago. Buddy was picked up yesterday afternoon and has been a pure joy to have as a part of our family. Benji is adjusting to the new puppy, however he appears not to be too thrilled right now On the otherhand these two have formed quite a bond: Ah, a boy and his dog...

Welcome back, ocnblu, and congrats to your mom on her new ride.

They're offering the Laramie Limited model based on the same premise just without all the goofy cowboy stuff. I think that's a great idea, because I don't like the Ford King Ranch nor the Ram LongHorn and Big Horn packages, though they are popular with the truck crowds (the city boy in me doesn't do country). One of the main reasons I like the GMC Denali package - nothing to do with cowboys!! I think Ram realized they can go after more buyers who want top-of-the-line stuff without all the silly cowboy and rodeo "stuff" (not the word I wanted to use ). http://www.insidelin...show-debut.html
