  1. Which is why I'm glad they aren't building it. Frankly, I'm sick of seeing full-sized Chryslers. That's all you see around here... to say nothing of the base and Touring 300s outfitted to look like Cs (which I do see quite a few of) and SRT8s (which I have seen exactly one of). I looked around for some Chrysler concepts but never saw that one... but I did see a couple of bad ones. EDIT: I just read the rest of the thread and saw the picture of that Super... thing. I'm gonna go soak my eyes in alcohol now.
  2. $1.4 million, perhaps. That looks pretty good, I think. But I'd hate to have the top down going that fast. I don't even have the windows down when I drive on the Interstate.
  3. Regardless of if it was good or not, it was still useless for day-to-day driving. Just like this Imperial woulda been.
  4. I'm glad. The new Imperial was a useless monstrosity. Sorta like the Hummer H1.

There must be something in the Japanese water. Remember how the Accord Hybrid was more, er, "performance-oriented" than the gas-only V-6? It was more powerful, sure, but the mileage improvement was so unappreciable that they didn't sell, and Honda dropped the car. I read somewhere that there are over 1,850 orders on this car already....

I was responding about getting fat and heavy being something that plagues Americans more than most any other country. Not necessarily about cars per se.
  7. Are there no reports of this occurring in the 3.5 models?

Americanization? Interesting about this car... when I first read anything about it, the EPA was projected to be 25/28, albeit by '07 standards. Either Lexus overestimated itself or cancelled itself out, I dunno.
  9. The Good: DTS... There's something stately about big Cadillacs that I've always liked. It's gotta be the Southerner in me. STS... My father drives an 06. Most on this board don't like it, I know. But I like sitting in it and LOVE driving it. Nav woulda made the center console look better, however. The OK: CTS... Really grew sick of the first-gen. But I kinda like the 08. SRX... Wouldn't get one, but it's nice to see on the road. The Bad: BLS... This has Catera written all over it. XLR... We all know it's a Corvette dressed up for Prom. Escalade... I used to love them until this current generation came out. Now it's too much.
  10. I rented a Cobalt sedan last June when my wife and I went on our honeymoon. I don't usually go for compact cars, but this was all we could afford. That said, I was very pleased with the Cobalt, especially the gas mileage. Only thing I didn't like was that the steering was way too light for my tastes.
  11. It ain't necessarily the screen to show me where I'm going. It's the map so that I can see what else is around. I'm a huge map reader; always have been. Let's just say it's a matter of preference.
  12. OnStar itself is quite good. OnStar navigation is where I'm not sold. Nothing in itself, but... you mean to tell me that other companies' nav systems don't do that? Even my cell phone does that.
  13. Some folks like to actually see the map sometimes instead of just relying on someone to tell them where to go. I know I do, especially if I just want to look around. And yes, remote start is available for the Camry.
  14. Interesting move. I hope it pans out 'cause I've always liked Chevy ever since I learned to drive in an '88 C/K Silverado. One problem I foresee though, as far as comparing options across the board: What happens when the car shoppers ask how much the DVD navigation system costs in the Malibu?
  15. Automobilemag.com Article I'm not too much in favor of this. I think the new Maxima should have grown in size in order to better compete with the Toyota Avalon in the Japanese full-size market... but maybe that's just me.
  16. GM has a method to its madness. As I read somewhere, the G6 is the successor to the 5th-gen Grand Am, so G6 ends up standing for Grand Am 6th Generation. So I did a little more investigation, and found out that the G8 is the replacement for the (gasp) 7th-generation Grand Prix. In that context, the names stay true to historical roots. But since Grand Am and Grand Prix are being retired, if Pontiac experiences a slump in sales, they could always revert back a la Ford.
  17. Which is why I may wait until the new iteration of the Impala to see if it has one. And BTW, the Fusion offers nav as of late last year. Back on topic, I'm not a coupe person, but Honda makes the nicest ones IMO.
