  1. http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosinsider/0.../A01-346329.htm I don't know what Delphi can be thinking. They know the Union won't lie down. Shutdown is certain. And thats criminal.
  2. They can, and should strike. What Delphi is dictating is their wet dream. Not even close to reasonable. Once Delphi moves to Void the CBA. Shut them Down.
  3. Thought i'd throw this in here as well as the other thread. Well, well, well. No greed, eh? http://www.uaw.org/delphi/delphiupdate.cfm?duId=4 90 million. Hmm you could employ 2,600 people at 17.00 an hour. 90 MILLION IN GREED

  5. First 10-15 dollars an hour is far from reasonable. Saying these are 10-15 dollar an hour jobs is false. They may have been twenty years ago but they are'nt now. To think someone will go from Middle class to poverty without a fight is just silly. they can be poor working for somebody else. The stuff about having to be at Chinese and Mexican wage levels is just offensive. What are the German Delphi employees making? Sorry but Germany is the Comparison not China. The U.A.W has to look at what the Germans did last year. Thats what gets results.
  6. Ah but Delphi has already promised that a good portion, are going to lose thier jobs anyway. The best outcome for the workforce, will come only if the workforce empowers itself through action.
  7. http://www.newratings.com/analyst_news/article_1055738.html Gm stock down ten percent today. I'll bet it's down 50 percent by friday.
  8. Yeah those would be ten dollar an hour jobs. They should strike. They can't lose anymore then what Delphi is trying to dictate.

  11. That post just reeks of Jealousy. Sorry but these "unskilled laborers" deserve the same for the time and effort from thier life. As the would be "I've been to college Elite" And if thats Socialism so be it. Capitalism is condemned by God.
  12. Was Gm profitable? Or were they accounting Differently to prop up the stock?
  13. Why should someone in Retirement give up what they earned? Why should they accept destitution? They earned better then that. The pension Fund should be the Primary debt. What ever scraps from breaking up the company can go to the lesser debts. If Delphi needs to be disolved to cover the pensions . So be it. And if the same needs to be done to GM ..... Pensions are the primary debt!!!!
  14. Where is the Morality in taking away a senior citizens pension? There is no morality in Big Business. Just Greed.
  15. Depends on the judge's political bias. It's not juvenile. Its what a proper union should do. Protect the membership by what ever means.
  16. Becuase they had a contract !!!!!!! They have a contracted debt!!!!!!!! Like any other debt !!!! they are thieving from retirees!!!!!
  17. http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosinsider/0...8/01-341704.htm Despicabley typical of american big business. One last cash grab.
  18. What incentive does the Delphi workforce have to do that? They should shutdown all 38 U.S. plants.
  19. The Labor Force should shut them down. They need to send a message. What is owed to them, is owed. Furthermore all Delphi employees should themselves file for Bankruptcy protection. Let the Financial institutions bare the burden of loss.
  20. It all started as Evok said. One Year ago. http://www.thecarconnection.com/Industry/I...S175.A7684.html
  21. If it is about to get real ugly? I would'nt be shocked by some sort of Cash raising deal with Shanghai Auto. Technology, platform, maybe even a Brand. (Buick or Saab? )
