  1. MLB and MLBEvo... pretty versatile component set..and they have MQB for the smaller vehicles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group_MLB_platform
  2. I kind of figured that, since it sounded like VSS is further out..
  3. Haven't used it in a while, mostly stick w/ Safari on my home laptop. With work I've been dealing with compatibility issues this week on a new application and Edge, IE, Firefox, and Chrome...as always, IE is the problem child. Will be glad when IE no longer has to be supported..
  4. CT4 and CT5 will be on that new platform? Those are due in the next year or so? It seems like there have been prototype sightings of them for a while...
  5. Interesting.. haven't used Lyft but Uber works great here in the Cleveland area...using it again tomorrow to go downtown to Playhouse Square...
  6. She said w/ TSA Pre it wasn't bad...was a Saturday, though.
  7. She ended up boarding, taxi-ing and de-planing twice before they switched planes (had an issue w/ the air conditioning). 3 hr delay in taking off...
  8. Yeah..I hear you..getting tired of winter. Tired of snow and slush. I need to get down to the Keys and visit old friends in Marathon. My sister was in Miami Beach for a few days before a Caribbean cruise a couple weeks ago, she enjoyed her vacation but mostly complained about American Airlines and problems w/ the return flight from Miami.
  9. Yeah, the 9 years I lived in Phoenix, I only worked in Phoenix once for 6 months--downtown. The rest of the time, I was commuting to Chandler, Tempe and Scottsdale. The Scottsdale drive was easy since I could avoid the freeway and take Camelback.
  10. When I worked in Chandler I had a coworker that lived in El Mirage..he hated his commute. My commute was bad enough (N. Central Phoenix off the 51 to the 202/Price Road via the 10 was 27 miles each way).
  11. I remember Pontiac ads being fun...though being cars and not motor cycles I thought 'get on your Pontiac and ride' was a bit odd. Cougar ads stuck in my head growing up.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vMpg1-V1cg There is one from '85-86 with the Cougar and the old song 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' but I can't find it. I remember liking 'The Boss in Back' '82 Mustang GT ad.. And the '87 Mustang GT ad is for the car that stole my heart as a teenager...really want to get mine back..
  12. I think one advantage Rivian has is they don't have the crazy Elon factor.
  13. Note that it says 'While we in the US get the gasoline version of the SQ5..' in the last sentence. The gas version should be a good competitor for the XT5-V. Oh, wait, there is no XT5-V..
  14. I'm really hoping Chevy builds a crossover coupe version of the C8...mid engined 2 seat crossover coupe, that would be a game changer...
  15. I like the driver-centric angling of that Cadillac concept dash, kind of retro early 70s feel to me. I like the new A8, esp. the taillight treatment.
  16. They could spell it 'El Mirage' like the town in Arizona. Eldorado would be the best name for it, IMO. Beautiful concept..I'd love to see them build a big RWD, 2dr hardtop. If M-B and Bentley can build 2dr hardtops, GM can too...
  17. Collecting diecast cars of all scales have been a hobby for decades, though I've cut back a lot, as well as model car kits (mostly 1/24th & 1/25th scale). I haven't built one in ages, but still buy them occasionally..need to get back into building. One new hobby I've started since moving back to NE Ohio is visiting Great Lakes lighthouses and starting a collection of lighthouse miniatures..not sure why, but I'm fascinated by the lakes, lake freighters and shipping, etc. Things I didn't see in the dry dusty desert void..
  18. As far as the C8 goes, it will be interesting to see what the base price of it is... Boxster/Cayman range or more like R8 or NSX range?
  19. The Audi interior dfelt posted is the A8, I believe. I like the hidden dash vents. Nothing retro I see, other than a horizontal dash w/ raised gauge pod, which many past Audis had.
  20. I should have visited the Skywalk before I left AZ...completely forgot about it..the last year I was there I was too busy planning my escape. Maybe in 10 years I'll take a vacay out there and see more of the Southwest..
  21. I'd definitely go for a full size SUV for a road trip w/ kiddos. I used to rent Tahoes and Yukons for long weekends and drive from Phoenix to LA or San Diego and back.. great road trip vehicles...
  22. Oddly, of the 6 cars I rented in Cleveland in '16-17, 4 of them had out of state plates...Florida, New York, Tennessee and PA IIRC..
  23. Could be..;) As an aside, though they already have the AWD GT, I'd really like to see a Challenger Trailhawk...with the same ground clearance as a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, same tires, skid plates, Quadra Trac II, etc...that would be a rad 'crossover coupe'. Likewise for GM fans, a Camaro ZR2 w/ the off road chops of the Colorado ZR2 would be cool..
