  1. If we're going to have globalization, we might as well reap the benefits from it. There were 6 body styles of the Epsilon 1 platform (Sedan, Coupe, Wagon, Hatch, Soft-top convertible, Hard-top convertible) all done in a half assed way because GM had to spread them over 5 brands. (Chevy, Saturn, Pontiac, Saab, Opel) Now that in the U.S. we're down to just 4 brands, why do we have fewer body styles of Epsilon 2? We're down to just sedans.... even though they make a hatch and a wagon overseas and a coupe is at least likely. The engineering work is done for a Regal wagon and hatch..... why are they not here?
  2. Nook is missing one very very very critical feature for me. 3G.
  3. Doh! and I fail and accidentally give Balth a negative one also.... if I figure out how to delete it, I will. Sorry.
  4. Not sure why you gave Balthazar a -2.... he's absolutely right. Look at what Cruze and Impala did to Malibu sales this month. Adding more and more sedans of vaguely similar size is not the answer. Accord and Altima have coupes, why not Malibu? Granted, it won't be the V8, RWD car that most here want the Malibu to be, but it would be something more than just another sedan. Where's the Malibu wagon? Why was there no Malibu Maxx when, as ugly as it was, it actually sold decent. Someone should find Malibu Maxx sales and compare them to Accord Crosstour sales. Fewer nameplates with more body styles for each is where the market needs to head.
  5. I'd say that I'm not exactly app happy. I need a good browser(already available), I need Tweetdeck (already available), I need FTP apps (already available) and decent email (built in)... and that's about it. I really don't play games or use e-readers or anything like that. Even music is secondary.
  6. I'm already an Android fan, but the dearth of available tablets so far has left me underwhelmed.
  7. What's your budget?
  8. Efficiency. It's still a drag on the engine... it's better to just do regenerative braking and have a larger battery.
  9. at least they closed the door after they left.
  10. I want it for ultimate mobility of managing my websites. I'd have to have the 3g version. I don't care about Facetime or making calls. I barely care about watching movies.

  18. The system in the Verano looks promising. They were already showing Apps with it like Pandora. Now if you can get a Grindr app for your car.....
  19. Fusion is the same size as the first generation Taurus.... it's not surprising that it's doing well. It's at a sweet spot in size. Oshawa builds - Impala, Equinox, Camaro, and soon Regal.
  20. I compared incentive to incentive. There is very listed for Taurus around here right now. Thanks for your insight. Are there other constraints to Chicago adding more shifts? Supplier constraints is the first thing that comes to mind.
  21. Oh dear.... do I need another? http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/2152495864.html
  22. I think the Taurus is a far better car to car enthusiasts..... but for the typical buyer who just wants a big car, doesn't care about "tech" like NAV or radar cruise control, the Impala is more car for the money you spend. You can step into an Impala for like $21k and the 3.5 will blow right on through it's 29mpg EPA rating up into the low 30s. A Taurus starts over $25k and will probably just meet it's highway rating of 28mpg... if you're gentle. There's nothing a Taurus offers that your typical upper middle age, working class guy nearing retirement that an Impala can't fill for $4k less.
  23. Sentra is the new compact fleetmaster. All the newest rental compacts here are Sentras and Versas
