  1. I live in a fairly cloudy city and there are definitely days where I want the sunshade over my sunroof.
  2. German collusion with Americans in my driveway.
  3. They're an in-between. Not full luxury, but not a pedestrian brand either. That is actually their traditional spot in the market hierarchy. Buicks were the cars for bankers and doctors who wanted a fine car, but didn't want to be ostentatious by driving a Cadillac or Imperial. I'm fine with Buick maintaining that position and I think their pricing needs to be a bit less ambitious to match that.... And for Eff sake drop that horrible 2.5 liter.
  4. Depends. The Lacrosse and Enclave certainly are. Envision is possibly debatable... but it is certainly priced like one. Base price is only $3k away from the Lexus NX and the moment you select a real engine (2.0T), you're automagically over $42k, which is more than AWD NX, RDX and same price as a MB GLC with a similar powertrain (2.0t + AWD).
  5. Used luxury sedans depreciate so quickly, I regularly see nicely equipped C-Classes for around $24k. I see just a couple of Envisions for that price, most of the used ones are in the $29k and up range.
  6. Even if the administration gets its wish and more vehicles are built here, the cost of those vehicles is going to be higher. Not all lines can be flex lines that build any vehicle in a manufacturers portfolio. It's cheaper to have a line that is dedicated to pumping out Camries than it is to have a line that has to do Camry and Corolla and RAV4 and Prius and......
  7. The Forester is one of their best sellers too. This would put the nail in the coffin for the BR-Z. I'm surprised the Toyota numbers are as high as they are, but that must include Lexus as well.
  8. Going through my collection of old Life magazines.
  9. Not much fault you weren't paying attention to what I said. I'm interested in a plug-in. I mentioned a number of them by name and acronym. You're the one trying to twist things.
  10. There is no plug-in Malibu hybrid. I mentioned Fusion Energi by name. I would have thought you'd know the difference since you know so much about EVs and PHEVs?
  11. At the moment, there aren't EVs that I can both afford and have a desire to own. I'd really like an XC90 PHEV or CT6 PHEV, but until you write me a check @ocnblu, I'll have to make due with my regular internal combustion cars. And that highlights the current problem with PHEVs. With few exceptions (Fusion Energi, Pacifica Hybrid) most are either econobox tiny little things with nothing in the way of creature comfort or full zoot Platinum Executive Signature Autobiography, Excellence top of the line models that few people can afford. I liked the Pacifica powertrain so much I actually floated the idea to Albert who promptly shot it down for being a minivan. If they put that in a FWD crossover and called it the Aspen, they'd have a huge hit on their hands. The choices in PHEVs is still pretty terrible without even considering the powertrain. Of the ones in the affordable range, only the Fusion could be sold at home. Physician, heal thyself. Until you've driven them regularly, you have no basis for which to knock on them. So unless you want that rule applied to you as well......
  12. Pricing on the Envision is still too high. It's hard to make a good case for it when the Terrain sits in the same lot and has a better base powertrain while feeling roomier. I'm a Buick guy and I'd still probably pick a Terrain Denali over an Envision due to the pricing of Envision.
  13. And right there is the reason you're not CEO. Pontiac, at the time, was not global. It offered little to nothing over a Chevy or Toyota. It was entirely GMs fault for letting it get there, but that was still the reality of the situation at the time. There totally should have been a new Bonneville, Grand Prix, Grand Am, heck even a new Vibe, Torrent, and a real honest to goodness crossover Montana... But there was no money. Buick had sales both here and in China, Pontiac did not and the sales here just weren't profitable. Trust me, I know how you feel. Olds was the most technically advanced division outside of Cadillac at the time of its demise. But if sales and profitability aren't there, gotta be a businessman and make the tough call.
  14. That ignores reality. Three out of every four Buicks sold are sold in China. It makes more sense to build all of them there and import them to the US. That's the basic premise of build it where you sell it.
  15. Yes, the rest of the world will advance without us. We are no longer special or essential for global progress. On a larger scale, our economy will suffer for it.
  16. They've looked like Jeeps for a while. Not sure what the sudden protest is about
  17. @regfootball
  18. Fine, make it an extended length Enclave. The Enclave Avenir is the modern interpretation of a Park Ave Ultra or Roadmaster Estate Limited anyway.
  19. You can't say that without knowing the vehicle it went on. Suppose Buick continued to move up market and did a CT6 sized car on Omega, overtop of Lacrosse, but made it PHEV or EV only. Wouldn't that make for a great Electra?
  20. Very sweet car! Significant upgrade over the 200. Make sure to add it to the Members Garage
  21. Black Label does well on Continental and the SUVS it is offered on... but the MKZ does so poorly (undeservedly so) that I would imagine the number of Black Labels sold is numerically quite small. A CPO MKZ is a luxury car steal, especially if you can find the Turbo V6 model.
  22. Sporty is the GS. So the Regal is the only one with both.
