The G8 shouldn't need rebates to sell, doesn't matter if we're talking V6, GT or GXP. People have been clamoring for a modern RWD sedan from Pontiac, then complain when its not priced like a Cobalt. Thats the problem with GM fans, they want all these cars, but are so used to paying half sticker that they put off their purchase.

I doubt GM has a markup problem with the Aveo (or will with the G3) yet gm4life defended the price of the G3 by saying it will be priced fine after rebates. And I doubt the G6 V6 suffers from markups. Its the fault of the buyers who are painfully cheap.

Try starting a V8 whose carburetor sticks and whose crankcase is full of 10w40 and whose starter is near death in this cold.

Bet they'll have them until GM puts $7500 on the hood to entice their cheap-ass "fans" to put their money where their mouths are. Meanwhile BMW probably gets their customers to fork over close to $60,000 for the 550i which, as Drew pointed out, has less hp and torque.

The thing is, GM needs money and cant get its own diehards to pay $40,000 for a car that can run with a $60,000 BMW.

The Camaro is looking more and more like a one and done model. The weight, the impractical trunk and back seat and the cheap interior (according to NOS) are gioing to drive away potential buyers. After the fanbois get theirs (minus 68, who at one point said he's be first in line) the sales will plummet and it will die off.

Yup, finally got the minifridge re-stocked with Sam Adams. What sucked is that when we went to the store the other day, the woman at the checkout stand didn't ask for I.D. from me or Jill, and they're supposed to card eveyone who appears under 40 in a "group" unless it is obviously a parent with their child.
