  1. The Tempest is the only one I can think of from this era with a rear mounted transmission and a carpeted rear trunk.
  2. The Year Is: 1964 The year is 1964. You've just finished paying off your fines at the court house because the State Patrol doesn't like your unconventional methods of transporting items. You still need to haul your stuff around and your station wagon isn't cutting it. You decide a pickup is the answer. The only question is, which one? Jeep Willys Jeep Gladiator Jeep FC 170 Jeep FC 150 International Harvester C-Series GMC C/K Ford F-Series Ford Econoline Dodge Power Wagon Dodge D/W Series Chevrolet El Camino Chevrolet Corvair Rampside Chevrolet C/K Series Studebaker Champ Ford Ranchero ************************************************* Got a year and type of vehicle you'd like to see featured? Shoot me a PM.
  3. That last one GMTruckGuy74 posted would be awesome with off road tires.
  4. Step One: Go to the image search of your favorite search engine. Step Two: Search for the term "shaped car" Step Three: Post your results.
  5. I think I fixed it. 1959 was the egg crate grille, right?
  6. The Year Is: 1959 The year is 1959. You've just graduated college and started your first job. Since several other of your co-workers live in the same neighborhood as yourself, you've decided to save gas and start a carpool. Things are going well until it's your turn to drive and your coworkers start complaining about passenger space. You decide a station wagon is on order. The only question is, which one? GMC Suburban Chevrolet Suburban International Harvester Travelall Dodge Town Wagon Studebaker Pontiac Plymouth Oldsmobile Nash Rambler Nash Metropolitan Mercury Imperial Ford Edsel Dodge Desoto Chrysler Chevrolet Buick Willys ************************************************************** Got a suggestion for a year and vehicle type you want to see featured? Shoot me a PM.
  7. I find it humorous the starter is the same size as the transmission.
  8. I'm looking for the name of the engine, what car it was used in, and what was the unique feature that eventually lead to its downfall?

  10. They sold those new in 1983?
  11. The Year Is: 1983 The year is 1983 and you've bought your first house. She needs a little work and your current ride hasn't really been cutting the mustard when it comes to hauling building materials. A full sized truck won't fit in your garage and you don't want to risk parking in the driveway or street, so you decide a small truck is in order. The only question is, which one? Toyota SR5 Plymouth Scamp Nissan Hardbody Mitsubishi Mighty Max Mazda B2000 Isuzu Pu'p Ford Ranger Dodge Rampage Dodge Ram 50 Datsun 720 Chevrolet S-10 GMC S15 Chevrolet El Camino GMC Caballero Volkswagen Caddy ************************************************ Got a suggestion for a year and genera you'd like featured? 13. Jetfire of course: Because there's nothing like it on the road today!
  14. The Year Is: 1962 The year is 1962. You've just graduated High School and you're going to head off to college in the fall. Partly as a graduation present and partly because your current car isn't terribly weatherproof; your parents have decided to pay half the cost of a new economy car for you. The question is, which one? Chevrolet Corvair Volkswagen Type 3 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Dodge Lancer Ford Falcon Mercury Comet Oldsmobile Cutlass Plymouth Valiant Pontiac Tempest Rambler American Volkswagen Beetle Renault Dauphine
  15. I thought about including the Travelall since I was doing full sized SUVs, but they quit making them in 1975 and as near as I can tell, were never made as a two door during the same years as the rest of these: If I wanted to do a two door full sized International, I'd have to go back a few more years:
  16. The Year Is: 1978 The year is 1978 and you're at the dealership service department. The service advisor breaks the bad news to you that your last foray in to the back country has terminally wounded your Omega and there's nothing they can do. You face a dilemma; you enjoy camping and back country exploring, but every vehicle you've used so far has not been up to the task. A Jeep CJ and is too small for you to comfortably camp in, a full sized pickup with a slide in camper is too cumbersome for the trails you like to frequent and the hatchbacks and wagons you have been using lack ground clearance and traction. After browsing the brochures and talking to the salesmen, you decide a full sized bobtail would be perfect for your needs. The only questions is, which one? Chevrolet Blazer: GMC Jimmy: 1978 Jeep Cherokee: 1978 Dodge Ramcharger: 1978 Plymouth Trailduster: Ford Bronco:
  17. Am I the only one to notice how stylistically ahead of the game the US makes were at this time? Even 10 years after WWII all the European designs look pre-war.
  18. The year is 1957. You've just been promoted to Senior Adviser to the Assistant Vice Deputy General Secretary at the National Center for the Association of Institutes. Your new job requires a lot of travel and the need to impress people once you get there. Your current car is looking a bit dilapidated and isn't up to the task. Since the company is willing to pay the cost of a chauffeur, you decide a large four door luxury car is what you need. The only question is, which one? 1957 Cadillac Series 70 Eldorado 1957 Lincoln Premiere 1957 Imperial Crown 1957 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud 1957 Bentley S1 1957 Mercedes 300 1957 Jaguar Mk VIII 1957 BMW 501
