  1. So agree....Audi is my favorite....that RS4 when it rumbles by, well it's wood time. Historically, probably Chrysler then Ford.
  2. What's everyone wearing these days? Boxers...briefs...thongs? Designer?...what's the hottest designer brand these days? Utility?...3 for 7.98 White?...colors?....car themed? Do you keep until threadbare? Commando?
  3. Obviously we are all fans of GM, but if it didn't exist, which of today's car companies would you most admire?
  4. Happy Father's Day everyone...

  6. I don't like these new instrument clusters that a few manufacturers are doing, when viewed from an angle look all wonky cross-eyed.
  7. Here's a Firebird commercial video, the style and the music used could be used today:
  8. I'll watch for 'The Great Camaro'. I was just looking at the Cadillac in your sig again and thinking, no other company, no other culture could come up with something so phucking incredible as that. It's not just a car. It's beyond that.
  9. Thanks for that look at the initial design study for this car....and me too, would love to see the first seeds of the idea for what I think is an iconic design.
  10. YES!....it's why I'm such a fan of GM, their incredible design and engineering legacy over many years. With all GM's challenges over several years, one can forget what a design powerhouse they were. And it's cars like the 1970 1/2 Pontiac Firebird that so reflect that. So many of these were built and we still see many around, that they become commonplace, but when you really study this great design and it's details....wonderful stuff. To me this and the Camaro are milestones and will some day have more recognition.
  11. Bill Mitchell was quoted as saying the first generation of the Camaro was designed by committee but the second became a designer's design.
  12. Fantastic info.....thanks alot. Facinating stuff.
  13. I can't seem to find any info on line, who the designer was but Ocean those could be some possibles......when did DeLorean leave the General?
  14. Does anyone know who designed this generation of Firebird (and Camaro)?
  15. So agree.....I always loved the Formula 400, something about those two forward hood scoops. (and Mr. B, you are getting some fine signature pics lately.....that caddy is beyond hot)
  16. Really it's genius the way the Japanese created the quality image that is perceived. The cars appeared very high quality, at least for the life of a car loan.
  17. Refresh my memory, when is the Solstice Coupe expected?
  18. Cadillac desparately needs a full tilt flagship luxo model and the current DTS ain't it. Can't wait.
  19. 1, 2, 3, 4 punch. The 1970 1\2 Pontiac Firebird, the second generation. And what a generation it was. They still look great.
  20. I contend that Japanese cars in the past often were more refined and well bolted together....but its the integrity of the materials used, that is in question. Thinner gauge sheet metal and plastics for instance. I recall helping push a Datsun 510 out of the snow bank and as we pushed on the front end the two front fenders buckled above the wheel well. And of course rust just ate up these cars. I find American cars can last forever sometimes. They are more robust.

    Firebird porn.
  22. Honestly, sometimes it makes you wonder, who at GM makes these decisions?....who comes up with the idea? 'I was thinking, while soaking in the tub, why not make cars with Toyota?'....and everyone around the boardroom table, holler, bravo...fantastic idea!!!! The founders and early leaders of GM must be turning in their graves.
