  1. My experience was similar...the Buick sales folks were very attentive. At 35, I was probably one of the youngest people there...my wife is a few years younger. There weren't that many older people there. Good luck with the LaCrosse. I hope to have my Lucerne by the end of the week.
  2. or how about Touraeg?
  3. Nissen is a big bread and bakery company in New England it hasn''t hurt Nissan, so I don't think a brand of milk should hurt Buick. We all know what Hummer means and that hasn't hurt that brand. Toyota sounds like toilet and hasn't hurt them. A lot of people butcher the name Hyundai.
  4. My wife and I went to a Lucerne party tonight and drove a glacier blue v-8. It is awesome! Exremely quiet and very European inside. We are definitely buying one. We're going to try different colors on line and get it. Check this car out, it's great!
  5. Dairy brand? Not in my store.
  6. me too
  7. I would love to get one of those, but my wife says if we get a convertible it needs to have a backseat. A kids thing! I wish they would spin a Buick Velite...throw the kids in back and we'd buy it! Good luck with it.
  8. That car is beautiful! I can just picture it on Lake SHore Drive with the top down!
  9. With Lucerne getting some good press and excitement, I wonder if GM could expand the Lucerne line? Could they easily make a coupe or convertible at Hamtramck? What about a wagon?
  10. I would bring out a few classic Buicks, along with the Velite convertible. The Enclave should be the star of the show.
  11. You don't sell more cars by producing fewer of them. I can see selling off Saab and Hummer. Saab's sales are abysmal in the U-S, and it's about time they turned a profit. Pontiac, and Buick outsell half the nameplates out there...even BMW and Cadillac. You want to kill them? Buick wins the lion's share of the reliability awards and surveys. Buick doesn't appeal to young people because GM decided to do away with coupes and convertibles for the brand.
  12. Does the Camaro concept debuting in Detroit bring hope for the Velite? If GM can make a RWD Camaro, why not a Velite?
  13. I've found FWD to be fine in the snow. AWD is nice, but it sucks up gas and is noisier.
  14. Anybody know how hard it would be for GM to make a Lucerne convertible? COuld it be done in the same factory?
  15. This is a great option...especially for those of us in the Northeast!
  16. Car Connection reports Enclave may debut in Detroit, or be held until NYC or Chicago.
  17. how is the LaCrosse in the snow?
  18. I'm starting to see more and more LaCrosses out there. Today a glacier blue CXL at the mall and a black CXS in mid-town.
  19. I don't see the Taurus when I look at the LaCrosse, rather I see cues from heritage Buicks, the Mercedes E-Class and the Jaguar. It's a classic looking car.
  20. anyone know?
  21. check out the sales figures on gm.com LaCrosse sales way up. Also Terrazza sales. Saab sales are pretty sad. Rendezvous sales outsold the entire Saab division, and people talk about killing Buick?
  22. To those who have seen the 2007 LaCrosse Super: Is it worth waiting for, or should I consider an '06? Also, will it be shown in Detroit in Jan?
  23. Interesting reactions. My thoughts: I don't understand why GM couldn't have the NAV system ready for Lucerne's launch, rather than next spring. People are writing about the car now, when the model debuts, not a couple of months from now. I don't really like the name either. It is kind of prissy. Invicta would have been better, or Roadmaster. Electra also suggests power. I think the front end, while attractive, could have been more "Buick." I love the portholes. They are Buick, and all Buicks should have them.
  24. GM just needs to get cool vehicles to the marketplace, pronto! Cutting a brand will hurt more than it help. Customers of the brand to be cut will go elsewhere, and the bad press will hurt GM overall. Imagine the headlines if they cut Pontiac: "World's Biggest Automaker Cuts Performance Division" Buick: "World's Biggest Automaker Cuts its Highest Quality Brand" What are buyers supposed to think? It will make GM look weak, no matter what brand they would cut. In the U-S, those two brands outsell Mercury, Lincoln, Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, Saturn, Saab, Mercedes and BMW. What f--in sense does it make to cut a brand?
  25. I think many of us want Buick to return to its greatness, and we see it as a great brand mismanaged by GM. Look at all GM has to build on, those quality ratings. I have a Mercedes and a BMW but bought a Buick when I graduated from college in 1989. Problem is, now they don't make coupes or anything for young people. I want to buy a Buick but they need to build me something. Velite, anyone?
