  1. This is great GM has been playing catch-up to the Japanese and Europeans in the tech department and they can finally get a piece of the pie. Great looking vehicle + Great powertrain + Flawless Technology = A True Winner.
  2. Oooohh...harsh to Toyota. Well, considering this is a GM enthusiast website, I won't complain....much. Compare this to the 2006 Impala base model. Not in performance. Not in size. Not in price. But in good looks. Sure the Impala looks nice, but base interiors (as I've seen and sat in) have horribly hard cloth and cheap plastic features and is nowhere near worth as much money as GM is charging. Having many experiences in base Toyota's, I can say that I'm much impressed with Toyota. Go figure. Talk all you want. This thing is going to eat up sales.
  3. If GM is admitting that they're trying to save Saturn, so be it. But, don't leave Buick or Pontiac on the market. Cancel out all plans for the automaker and phase out these divisions and focus on what they've got left. Safe money and prevent bankruptcy.
  4. Josh and Brian, thanks for coming out and issuing apologies. It's glad that we do have clarification at this website. BUT, I am not happy that one mistake has become (as Simon C says) "political". We are treating this mistake like Hurricane Katrina or something. In Hurricane Katrina, FEMA's director Michael Brown was blamed for failing to properly prepare AND react to Hurricane Katrina. As much as Josh was wrong to do what he did, we shouldn't all say "we were duped" like Oprah did to James Frey. We should all move on. So, a fabricated story was brought out. Big deal. Move along. (That song is good, isn't it? )
  5. Nice improvement. Unfortunately, that doesn't exceed Toyota's total. GM can't be innovational unless it starts thinking about efficiency and interior quality. This will improve the retention rates of their models.
  6. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. This is why Toyota will become the #1 manufacturer in the world. General Motors is actually losing money by lowering prices EVEN FURTHER than they already have. This is showing the problems that American automakers are having. By lowering their prices, they lower the profits, and they are seeing more red than green. Sure, they'll save $4 billion but that doesn't mean that they won't have to use it to slash costs. I sat in a base-base Cobalt LS (yea, the one for under $13K). It is the nastiest thing ever. Roll up windows. Fleet-like cloth. Plastic everywhere. We are talking about MSRP's and base-prices. These models don't sell because they don't have any features (most ironically, Chevy didn't put power windows and locks but didn't forget a CD player). It is time to wake up and get out of the coffin. The true thing is not improving a little bit of your lineup, but all of it. While Daewoo redesigned the Aveo just 2? 3? years after we first saw it, Chevy is holding onto the aging Malibu as long as it can. The Malibu wasn't a competitor from the start. It can't compete at all. GM is bringing out new models that aren't quite new. The Chevy Impala is built off the same platform. It just LOOKS new. Sure, 303 horses under the hood is a good thing to brag about. Why doesn't GM just keep a darn V-6 in there and improve interior quality? Plastic is still everywhere on these cars! Sure, the new Tahoe is nice. The GMT-900s are a real improvement. What about the CTS? Why are you keeping a line that is nearly 5 years old and aging fast! Now, we have to wait another 2 years to see Bluetooth...if at all. We have to wait another 10? 15? 20? to see Bluetooth in the GMT-900s because they forgot to put it in there. And, while GM beefs up its premium divisions with luxury features, Toyota is doing the same...in their value model Camry. This is a horrible embarrasment. GM is going into the tubes. They are doing EVERYTHING possible to avoid bankrupty. Hah, don't I feel for Kerkorian.
  7. I think it is EXTREMELY safe to say that you C&G fans are weeping for GM. This Toyota kicks ass....and if you don't mind me saying, 268 horsepower is A LOT better than what GM can offer with better quality and better rankings. I'd be surprised to see this thing NOT SELL....very surprised. Enough Toyota-bashing. They're the future of America.
  8. I'm glad Daewoo didn't mess this one up. Many automakers have gotten fancy with subcompacts and compacts placing untraditional (and clearly awkward) speedometers and other gauges on top of the audio controls rather than the steering wheel. Subcompacts have to be conventional. Otherwise, it makes a small car look dorky. I say the future is a small, compact offering with luxurious features...something I'm pretty sure Daewoo will be able to cook up.
  9. Did some searching...a lot of searching in West Palm Beach and found 2.99 the other day!!!!! That's the most I've ever paid for gas....
  10. The new Deville.....er DTS looks very nice. I agree that it is seriously a great improvement over the last model. But, considering that it wasn't built off of Sigma or the recently cancelled-recently back on track Zeta, but rather a 15 year old platform, I don't necessarely think this is going to be what puts Cadillac back on the map. I think the DTS should be priced outside of the STS range with cheap options. That will make the DTS very successful. But, it can only be for the traditional S-Class and 7er buyers...
  11. Yes, the Solstice looks good. I'm pretty sure it drives good. I don't think the convertible will provide GM with the sales it needs, though. A lot of people don't buy convertibles because it weighs down the car and they also have no need for it. That's why coupes clearly generate most of Corvette and Mustang sales. I think it will be the coupe that provides most if not all of the volume.
  12. It is hard to look at these numbers and actually factor in what isn't wrong with them. But, you must remember that the CTS doesn't really offer anything. For example, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are not options as far as I'm concerned. And, the CTS would probably top the IS and 330 with all those nice options. Options are very pricey with the CTS...take it from a man who actually owned one for 2 years. The CTS was, without a doubt, a great car, but pricey indeed...to buy and to service.
  13. A Cadillac bicycle is just a 'rebadged' bike. It is nothing special. I'm sure you could get a different brand bike that looks exactly the same for $500 cheaper. Oh, and now they're coming out with a Hummer laptop when it is a retooled Dell laptop really and truly. How great....it is just like all those dumb mall brands. They sell the same tee-shirt with a different tag and the tag raises the retail price by $50.
  14. Uhh...this is not, at all, going to help Saab make a comeback. First of all, it is just a redesigned front and rear. Nothing is truly different. What this Saab needs is a makeover from the ground up with diesel, hybrid, and V-6 powertrain choices. I am very disappointed in Saab. This looks absolutely nothing like what the sketches showed us. Guess those budget cuts at GM are set to continue...for the best, and for the worst.
  15. This was expected. Low inventory at GM is sparking high sales for Ford, Chrysler, and Toyota. I think GM should've ended the discounts way back in August. Extending them until almost October is very ridiculous.
  16. The new RAV4 looks pretty good...my only complaints is the hideous tailights. The Yaris is....too much....but Europeans expect distinctive design. Hey, if Citroen and Peugot can sell millions of cars in Europe, why can't Toyota?
