    Trivia Tuesday: January 6, 2015

Trivia Tuesday for January 6th 2015

I have a number of new features planned for CheersandGears.com for 2015. The first new feature comes to us from long time member Balthazar. He has cued up trivia questions for us to answer each week. Some weeks, we will be offering prizes to the first to answer all 5 questions correctly. We will reveal the answers to this week's questions in next week's post.

    1. In the long-running TV series "Married with Children", what brand/model car was Al Bundy always bemoaning?
    2. Name 3 makes of American automobiles that have had special 'Hurst' Editions.
    3. In which state was the 'Springfield' Rolls Royce auto built?
    4. What was the first model year of the Chevy Bel Air?
    5. Which 2 U.S. brands of autos presented "Daytona" models in the 1960s?

1 Bundy had a Gold Plymouth Duster on the shows I saw.

2 Hurst Olds [442], AMC Hurst Scrambler, Hurst Chrysler 300, Hurst Pontiac GP for extra credit

3 Springfield Massachusetts was where the chassis and engines were built the bodies at Brewster in NY and other custom shop as done in the era.

4 Trick question as many will say 1955 but it was the 1950 Chevy with the new body style that was the first Bel Air

5 Dodge Daytona,  Studebaker Daytona and hmmm. Will you accept the limited edition Shelby Daytona Coupe?

    • See @ccap41 post about the number of EV9 recalls. Last I checked, they are not ICE.    And data from the last ten years would suggest your opinion about Honda vs Toyota to be off as well. Doesn’t matter though. You made the post for one reason. To troll Toyota.
    • Having recalls does not equate to reliable or unreliable. Those things are not mutually exclusive.  A vehicle can be reliable with a ton of recalls or completely unreliable with zero recalls.  A post isn't complete without a political statement by David.
    • @trinacriabob Seeing her here singing the song, this is so proper for our current situation.
    • So proper for our messed up Democracy today! Awesome unique voice, I also thought it was a guy the first time I heard this song.
    • Lucky me, the American EV9s that have been built does not affect me. Fasteners on the second and third row chairs was not an issue, I had them torqued just fine. Instrument cluster issue never affected me, but I got the software update and still no issue. I do not use the smart parking assist feature nor does my wife, we got the software update fix on our last service visit. My interior ceiling panel was not one of the affected recalled units. Seat Belt retractor issue was also not an issue as it did not affect my EV9 as part of that recall. Driveline differential unit was inspected and found torqued to the right spec. Not an issue.   I suspect that the reason my EV9 has not been affected by the recalls is it was part of the initial launch units which Kia spent I believe more time on making sure everything was right before shipping from Korea. I know that a Gen 1 unit can have it's issues, but so far, been one of the most reliable autos I have owned, especially being a Gen 1 unit. The whole point in posting about Toyota is that if @A Horse With No Name wants a Rav4 Hybrid or older ICE version, that is fine with me and his choice. I just want to point out the recalls and make sure he does his due diligence to ensure that any issues are addressed before one buy new or used. That goes for you @ccap41 or @surreal1272 or anyone here, even @ocnblu as I would not want anyone to get a lemon or buy and have to deal with expensive repairs. No one deserves to have to deal with that. Happy 4th to everyone as I hope you can find solitude in the destruction of our democracy.
