    Meet The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

    During the first generation cycle of the Porsche Cayenne, the company introduced a high-performance version called the Turbo S. The Turbo S brought forth a 4.5L turbo V8 producing 520 HP.

    Well, Porsche is doing another Cayenne Turbo S for this generation. The Turbo S uses the same 4.8L turbo V8 from the Cayenne Turbo with some slight modifications. Performance stats are:

    • 520 HP
    • 553 lb-ft of torque
    • 0-60 MPH in 4.2 Seconds
    • Top Speed of 176 MPH

    Despite all of the performance increases, Porsche says the Turbo S doesn't see a significant change in fuel consumption.

    The Cayenne Turbo S' exterior gets some subtle changes which include 21-inch alloy wheels, smoked headlamps, gloss black accents on the lower part of the mirrors and bumpers, and rectangular quad tailpipes. Inside, there are new carbon fiber trim decors for the dashboard, door panels and center console and a two-tone leather upholstery with contrasting stitching.

    Standard equipment on the Turbo S include air suspension with active roll stabilization and damping control, torque vectoring system that works with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and the Sport Chrono package.

    The Cayenne Turbo S will premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show and go on sale sometime next year.

      Porsche division chief Oliver Blume told Bloomberg at the Shanghai auto show that the Mission E brought a shift in thinking for the company.
      “It’s more than just the need to comply with rules. We find the technology as such interesting, as electric cars allow a very sporty driving experience, which fits well with the core value of our brand,” said Blume.
      The acceleration capabilities of electric motors has Porsche thinking about how they could integrate them into their lineup. One is by building out a group of EVs and the other is expanding their lineup of plug-in hybrids - currently comprised of the Cayenne and Panamera.
      Vehicles like the Mission E will play a key role in markets such as China where restrictions on emissions are expected to become the world's toughest in the coming years.

      Porsche Reports March 2017 Sales
      Sales bolstered by Macan and all-new Panamera ATLANTA, April 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor in the United States of Porsche 911, Boxster, and Cayman sports cars, Macan and Cayenne SUVs, and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up, today announced March 2017 sales of 4,479 vehicles. This represents a 3.6 percent sales increase over March 2016 and a first quarter gain of 3.9 percent over the same period last year. Year-to-date 2017 sales stand at 12,718 vehicles.
      March results were strengthened by strong consumer demand for Panamera and Macan models. The 2017 Panamera recorded 554 units in its first month on sale –– a notable 65.9 percent increase over last March. The Macan continued its performance streak achieving 1,802 vehicle sales, a 60.5 percent increase year-over-year. Macan sales stand at 5,337 year-to-date which represents 48.1 percent growth over 2016.

      Porsche's upcoming Mission E is an important vehicle for the brand and they want to give the best shot of succeeding. To do this, the German sports car builder is planning to price it to compete in a "segment below the Panamera".
      This information comes to us from Porsche's chairman Oliver Blume. Speaking with Drive.com.au, Blume says the model will be offered in various power outputs (something akin to other Porsche models like the 911 and Cayenne).
      "We're thinking of different options. There will be more than one model, with different levels of power." said Blume.
      Considering the Panamera begins at $85,000, we wouldn't be surprised if Porsche prices the Mission E around the $65 to $75,000 mark.
      Previously, Porsche has said the initial Mission E would have an output of 600 horsepower and a range of 300 miles.
