Feature Idea

Recommended Posts

I think it'd be great if Cheers & Gears featured an vehicle timeline...

Core features:

Divided by GM division (Chevy, Saab, Buick, etc...)

Show month each vehicle is set to go on sale (start of timeline bar)

Show end of production - actual or estimated future end (end of timeline bar)

Additional feature ideas:

include other manufacturers

include concept vehicles

include trim levels or major options (engines, etc)

build backward through time to create a more complete timeline, including out of business manufacturers

if it needs to be kept simpler, have the timeline only look at the future, and only go so far into the future (5-10 yrs). Bars for production ends start at today, and bars for new products start at introduction and end at the set endpoint, for example.

This just seems like a great way to collect all the information about when new vehicles are coming out, and put it all in one simple visual. Probably the hardest thing would be maintaining it as new products are announced.

Just an idea...
