Recommended Posts

I saw this video and laughed my @$$ off.

For a sec. there I thought this was my

former car (now XPs) you know the one

I call the Banana Hamock or the Banana

Boat. The real T.W.C.C. Hand-me-down

Special is a 1977 not 1978 like this one

but I still stopped breating for a sec.

=

Enjoy. :P

P.S. Under 11 in a 5000 lbs. car... Impressive!

Wish I was, but sadly my banana does not have the sack that the '78 with a built 500 does. The 425 is easily the most lethargic of all the Cadillac big blocks and not worth trying to build with performance goals in mind. However, it still gets these big cars down the road quietly and comfortably, and the power is there if needed.

As far as drag racing a Cadillac, though, I will soon have nothing but the shell of my $200 beige house paint '67 Eldorado parts car in case anybody here wants to volunteer to make it race-ready with a cage and a proper drivetrain (RWD). Any takers?

That Fleetwood Brougham Coupe has made the rounds.

It first appeared in the Hot Rod magazines. I'd love to

race a built up 1959 Buick E225 in SCCA events...

perhaps powered by a built up 401. Can you imagine

seeing all that metal & chrome being throw around at

over 1.0 Gs...? It would be a great thing to do with a

basket case B-59 with a rotted frame.

Yes and yes. Too bad many a Cadillac & Buick have been totalled that way in the desert.

Have you heard of the La Carrera Panamericana? It was a road race across Mexico in the 1950's. If you can find footage of the races you can see plenty of 1940's and 1950's boats screaming through corners at insane speeds on skinny bias ply tires. Now that folks, is racing. 8)

Certainly is.....
