There must be pretty lax trademark laws in Japan? The only National products that I've seen before are rice cookers.

Wow... I guess this is where HOnda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus/Scion engineers get their start... wiht Rikon Photograpy Equiptment and National brand Rice Cookers.

Looks like it's a Matsushita company (like Panasonic and Technics)...guess that makes National the appliance arm.
