I like this guy, I honestly do. I hope a good deal is struck so that SAAB can continue to exist.

I really hope that he is right, and there is enough interest that someone will hlep SAAB become a much better company than GM ever let it become. I really like their products, and the dynamics of the couple I have been able to test out. Hopefully everything works out and we keep seeing their products here in the US

I read on www.saabsunited.com that there's talk in Swedish newspapers about Saab being profitable selling 120K units/year, but burdened on the cost side by GM charges that made it appear unprofitble. Same thing goes for Opel. It could be a way to get the money out of Europe and into the US. I don't think there's a single tax authority in the World that would find enough evidence of comparable transactions to challenge an OEM regarding those charges, but......... if Saab can demonstrate that it is able to function without having to pay those amounts or without having to spend them internally creating its own structure, perhaps potential buyers will be more interested. Bottom line and sad thing about this is that Saab needs not only a new owner, but a fresh cash infusion...
