Round speaker-like thing on door

Featured Replies

I was just wondering. On my G6 there's this round thing that looks like a speaker tweeter on where the side mirror is mounted. What is it? Is it a speaker? I counted all six speakers in my car, excluding this. It appears on my friend's Mazda 3 as well, and he says it could be for the heated mirror, but he's not sure.

My mom's Vibe has them there. Dealer said it was the 5 and 6th speakers.

If they aren't speakers, they could be vents for the side window defrosters.

Inded. We know about those. :AH-HA_wink:

take a flash light and shine it in there if you see a metal disk in the center its a speaker.

If its like the Equinox they are tweeters for the sound system.

Yeah those are most likely tweeters; sometimes they're in the A-pillar pointing at the windshield, sometimes they're in the blank spot where the mirror is. I wish the HHR had those:

I doubt it. It's pointing towards the inside of the car.

They would take air in to be directed along the side window through a narrow slot behind them, they don't let air out. There would be a fixed vent on the dash which directs air toward them. My Opel Corsa has this kind. In other cars there is a vent hidden in the side of the dash where it connects with the closed door ->=||=->, which is then directed up through the door toward the window vent.

I just figured out. They are speakers. The fith and sixth speaker.

I was mislead by my friend that the rear doors have speakers, but they don't.
