What was the first four wheel drive Porsche that was sold to the public?

I'm thinking 959, but it may be something strange and obscure like the '50s tractor or something...

You have the right decade with the 1950's, but it isn't a tractor.

Hmm...are talking Porsche the company or Porsche the man? Research turned up an even earlier model that Dr. Porsche's name was on...

I'm talking about the one designed by Ferry Porsche for Porsche GmbH.

That would be the Porsche 597 Jagdwagen. 49 were sold to the public. The very first Porsche designed 4WD would be the 1900 Lohner-Porsche Electromobile.
