So is the only way to attach pictures in threads is to first add them to your own gallery first and then into the thread you are commenting on or use a link to an outside hosting point?

I will admit that adding pictures to a thread is not user friendly.

Not having the pics in the thread creates a lack of cohesion.

And, the gallery itself distorts the pics and is anything but user-friendly.

Click "More Reply Options" and then look for the My Media button. You can add pics that way. Clicking on any pic in the gallery will remove distortion of the thumbnail.

Yes, but it is a slow laborious process to do that for each pic in a gallery. It wouldn't be so bad if you could click from non-distorted pic to non-distorted pic directly. The distorted ones really aren't worth looking at at all.

At least one good, full-size pic should be in each original thread - makes for a much nicer presentation.

On the front page/article system, all of the articles have the pictures embedded.
