Aftermarket Gauges and Meters

Has anyone had any experience with installing these and using them? Here is an example: http://www.k2motor.com/spec-d-2-inch-meter-oil-temp.html

I have heard that they are one too accurate. I'm also looking to find wiring and mounting how-tos so I can learn how to install these bad boys myself.

Yeah, they look cool but I have no idea how they will work.

So in reading online, you can install the gauge inside and run the wires out of the fire wall and then you need to locate where the oil temp gauge is on the engine so that you can splice the wire into it and this way the OEM gauge would still work plus your new flashy gauge. The sensors in most cars are able to report all the info, just that it is cheaper to have dummy lights to say too hot or a generic gauge that shows cold to hot.
