September Caps Best-Ever Sales Through the First Nine Months Of The Year For Kia Motors America

  • Sportage CUV Surpasses Previous All-Time Annual Sales Total; Year-to-Date Sales Up 3.3%

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- With 49,220 units sold last month – including best-ever September performances by the Forte family of compact cars and the Sportage CUV – Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced the highest sales total through the first three quarters in company history. Year-to-date sales are up 3.3 percent as demand for the Sportage, Kia's longest-running nameplate in the U.S., has surged to new heights.

"On the strength of double digit gains for the Rio, Forte, Sportage and Sedona nameplates through the first nine months of the year, Kia's upward trajectory continues despite the industry showing signs of little growth," said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA.
