2004 Honda CR-V Check Engine Light

Featured Replies

I'm getting a check engine light on my '04 CR-V.  It only happens below half a tank of gas.  If I open and close the gas cap, a few trips later the light will reset.  When I do this, it seems like there is a lot of vacuum in the tank as I can hear the air rush in.

About 6 months ago I had the fuel lines replace and fuel pump replaced.

Any ideas?

When the light is on, have you stopped by an O'Reilly's to borrow their scanner and see what the codes are that have been thrown? This would give you a good idea of where to begin the hunt for the cause.

I wonder if the vent line is plugged.

I haven't yet... it just came on again today so it made me think of it.  We don't drive the car much, so I can go a month or more without filling it up.

Just buy a scanner, they are not very expensive.  Much more convenient to have it for the long run.
