Volkswagen used the 2014 New York Auto Show to introduce the seventh-generation Golf and GTI for the North American market, presenting the full lineup of TSI, TDI, and GTI variants. The Mk7 Golf brought a significant jump in interior quality, a lighter body, and more efficient powertrains across the board. The sporty GTI returned with its signature Clark plaid upholstery, honeycomb grille, and red brake calipers, while the standard Golf offered available TDI diesel power alongside its gasoline options.
