  1. My interest in sportsball waxes and wanes over the years. I've had an affinity for the Steelers, Dolphins, Browns and Broncos over the years, when I lived in those areas. The Browns have been consistently horrible for so long, I still follow them to a degree but not at rabid fanboy level. Didn't watch the Super Bowl last night, went to an IMAX showing of the new 'Becoming Led Zeppelin' documentary...great music from before my time catches my interest more than current sportsball...

  2. I just remain loyal to my hometown professional teams, with the exception of football. So, it would be the Lakers (NBA) and the Dodgers (MLB). The absence of professional football in Los Angeles, coinciding with my absence, led me to abandon any childhood/teen loyalties, so I now consider myself a Seattle Seahawks fan. In a Super Bowl like the recent one, where I have no opinion on the teams, I don't care who wins. The same would have been true with Chicago and Indianapolis in 2007. Who gives a rat's ass? I was on the hillsides of the Golden Gate Bridge with thousands of others watching the QM2 sail under the bridge with a slim margin and into the bay for the first and only time thus far. Most Super Bowl memories blend together over the years. San Francisco on February 4, 2007 doesn't fade. As far as college football goes, I don't like UCLA, USC, or Cal Berkeley. I would have not liked going to any of these schools. The same would hold true for Notre Dame. That would have been like pulling teeth. When it comes to Pac 10/12, I am a Huskies fan, for obvious reasons. That has led me to dislike Oregon. I have no loyalties from a past (tense) "Big 10" "experience," which was even more of a teeth puller. If you've moved a time or two, you'll run into locals who have never moved. They may know nothing outside of a 125 mile radius. You might encounter such a local who acts like the late Marge Schott or a Bubba (possibly under the umbrella of the "basket of deplorables") who asks you, out of the side of their mouth, of course, "How about dem (insert name of local team)?" It doesn't go over well that you don't give a shit because you have deep roots somewhere else and your loyalties won't be changing. You should see the completely disoriented looks on their faces.

  3. I am not a football fan, don't hate KC, but was pulling for the Eagles and glad they won.

  4. That Hate for the Chiefs is understandable, Idiot47 loves them and expects them to win, so that would make the 50.5% of Americans that did not vote for Idiot47 to hate the Chiefs. It is what it is.

  5. Everyone loves someone, might not be your cup of tea, but someone else's. Sad part is that in 1971 when she was teaching and was pregnant, after they had said they would extend her contract another year to teach, she was visibly pregnant 6 months later and informed they had decided to go with someone else. As such, this changed her career to go into politics to protect the working class and especially woman. !971 with her first child. A year later, she helped get passed a law that no teacher could be dismissed for being pregnant. Protection for woman on the job while pregnant. Incompetence is going to hurt this country big time. 6. Here I am, watching the Superbowl with all kinds of thoughts and emotions going through my mind trying to forget the political scene in the US. Hard to do even as a Canadian living in Canada, when the President of the US keeps on barking about Canada becoming the 51st state. Anyway, Im kinda bummed for Mahomes as I really wanted him to win this. 3 in a row and 4 in 6 attempts. Its such an achievement in NFL history. Not over yet but this post is coming right after his 3rd interception and the Eagles making it 24-0. But Im also kinda happy because the pro-Mahomes camp were soooooo making him the GOAT overtaking Tom Brady for a not yet event three-peat. Im mean, Brady has 7 Superbowl titles... So no!!!! Mahomes aint the GOAT, yet and if... Let Mahomes win #4 and then #5 and then #6 and then #7 and only THEN could we talk about GOAT-ness. But Im also kinda bummed BECAUSE of ALL the hatred the Chiefs and Mahomes ALSO gets. Chiefs fatigue beiong one thing, I get that, but I dont understand the hatred. It was nice seeing Brady make history. Its also great to see Mahomes make history as well. And to see where Mahomes finishes with the Superbowl titles. I hate haters is what Im saying. The Patriots were accused of cheating. Hate. The Chiefs are accused of favoritism. Hate. Jealousy is what Im going with for the haters. Its the half-time show, which means its time for me to take a shyte. I dont watch half-time shows. Ever. There were a couple, but I dont really recall any of them. Maybe Tom Petty. I remember that show. I liked Tom Petty. Lets see how good Mahomes really is. Brady had a huuuuge comeback versus the Falcons at the second half. But Mahomes and the Chiefs are scoreless now. That will probably change but... does Mahomes have what it takes. Kelce has Taylor Swift's honey on his mind. He has been useless these playoffs...

  8. New Jersey and Virginia have large federal workers living there and both states are having elections for Governor of the state. Be interesting to see how this plays out for the upcoming 2026 elections. Trump chops away at the government and the fallout is felt in the Virginia governor's race

  9. @A Horse With No Name Here you go. Anytime one sees her, she is gesticulating like this. How is she not exhausted from this? I have to flip the channel. Yet two men have married her and she has a couple of kids. She came to mind because, before crossing the pond, I was last in Houston. I drove up and down I-45, adjacent to UH, and tried to imagine her being a "peaches and cream" undergrad there. She is a UH grad in speech pathology and audiology. She went to law school later. For having gone to Rutgers (the State University of New Jersey), she has had teaching stints at Penn and Harvard. New Jersey obviously changed her! Her affect is Massachusetts all the way, yet she is an Oklahoman. She grew up lower middle class. She was at first a Republican. I dislike most politicians. Many politicians score highly on indices for narcissism. Some would score very highly.
