Reminds me of small Ohio towns from growing up that I know well...I'm reminded of the great 50 yr old song by Paul Simon, 'My Little Town'...'...nothing but the dead and dying back in my little town'...a great song that is still relevant today.

More than the educational failure, the moral failure of the USA. I am sort of over being angry, just want to find a way to avoid the morally failed folks that voted for/support all of this.

It's a huge case of FAFO, and also indicative of the failure of the US education system that there are so many fundamentally ignorant people.

An overhead photo of a town in Iowa in the 1930's showed three railroads ran through the town, a population of 900, and several factories. An early 2000's overhead photo showed the railroads and factories gone, but 600 people still lived there. Farming, education, and medical kept the town alive. We are killing all three in small towns like that. In 20 years the Chinese and corporations will own all of the land, and there will be a barracks for company workers, and little else in that small town. On to happier things.

That is my plan w/ my current Mac Book Pro...still plenty of space and running great at 8 years old...my work Mac Book Pro is over 5 years old.

It is crazy that there are MAGA that believe this is fake news when it is not and they still say they do not understand why they are not able to sell into Europe or Asia. The stupidity of MAGA is mind blowing as they would rather listen to lies than facts. They get what they wanted, Idiot leadership, idiot job losses.

All depends on how you take care of a laptop, you might not get security updates, but my Lenovo W520 with 32GB ram, 512GB SSD drive on Windows 10 has been solid since new, that is from 2011 and here it is 2025. 14 years. I see no reason to replace it at this time since it is working so solid. Yes, I am probably more attune to computers being an engineer and as such far more aware of what can go wrong if you accept or install stuff than most. Yet still no reason a solid laptop cannot last 10 years.

True, but sadly the real world is doom and gloom if you go into any major city with Federal buildings. The ICE building in Seattle used to be a nice place to walk by on my way to work. Now it looks like a Nazi Concentration camp with guard posts outside, razor wire, nothing that says a Democratic America, just a Dictatorship run country. Very scary to see all the ICE out and about Harassing Americans as much as anyone else. ICE needs to be closed down, and a new Immigration department built with people who are human.

I honestly think GM is not looking global or leadership in this approach but short-term money grab in that they think people will not move to other auto makers for the tech they want and will allow GM to dictate what one can and cannot use in regard to the auto and their cell phone.

Were you expecting 50's/60's pricing to come back or something? I don't understand your comment. Also, I do believe it was said that it will get worse before getting better.

Get off the internet for awhile. The real world isn't nearly as doom as gloom as scary headlines make it out to be. The internet does a good job of making the real world look a lot worse than it actually is. Just live your life and control what you can control.
