We reported back in April that Cadillac would be releasing a V-Series version of their OPTIQ EV for the coming model year, joining the Cadillac Lyriq-V in the V-series lineup. Today we finally get the details. 519 HP, 3.5-Second Sprint, and NACS Charging While the base Cadillac Optiq already makes 300 horsepower, the OPTIQ-V bumps that up to a robust 519 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque when the car is in Velocity Max mode. That is sufficient to sprint to 60 in just 3.5 seconds. Carrying an 85 kWh battery pack, Cadillac's preliminary range estimate comes in at 275 miles. Naturally, that range would decrease with a lot of Velocity Max driving. For charging, the OPTIQ-V is the first GM vehicle to come standard with the NACS charge port. Home charging at 240V is available at 7.7kW, 11.5 kW, and if a 100-amp breaker is available, 19.2 kW. DC Fast-Charging allows the OPTIQ-V to take on power at a rate up to 70 miles in 10 minutes. Accessing Velocity Max is done through the V-Mode button on the steering wheel or in the drive mode app in the center screen. V-Mode allows the driver to customize their experience and pre-select performance settings that are activated by the V-Mode button. Drivers can select from Launch Control for maximum straight line acceleration and Competitive Mode for extra traction management to enhance agility. Handling is managed by Continuous Damping Control (CDC) dampers. Brembo performance brake calipers are standard on the front and available in blue or red with a V-Series logo. When you want the car to take over driving, Super Cruise is standard and available for use on approved roads. All Go, Plenty of Show Cadillac makes sure other drivers know you're in something special with V-Series specific looks. The front fascia is unique to the OPTIQ-V, complete with the signature V-Pattern mesh lower grill, high gloss black front splitter, and body color lower trim. A Carbon Fiber package is available which upgrades the front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear mid-spoiler to carbon fiber. Wheels are 21-inch satin graphite alloy by default or optional 21-inch dark painted sport wheels are available. The roof is painted black standard with a panoramic fixed-glass section while two new limited-edition exterior colors: Magnus Metal Frost and Deep Ocean Tintcoat join the color palette. V-Series badging is placed prominently around the exterior. The Inside Counts Too Optiq-V offers two interior color schemes: Noir with Santorini Blue accents or Noir and Sky Cool Gray with Santorini Blue accents. An additional darker accent fabric is woven from yarn made from 100-percent recycled materials. Standard genuine carbon fiber trim decorates the center console. The standard audio system is a 19-speaker AKG Studio unit with Dolby Atmos paired with a 33-inch diagonal LED display. Starting price for the OPTIQ-V rings up at $68,795, including destination charges and before taxes and fees. Today, Ford took the wraps off its breakthrough Universal Vehicle Platform, a new EV platform intended to bring a new level of affordability to electric vehicles. Ford is investing $5 billion in its Louisville, KY assembly plant and the BlueOval Battery Park in Michigan to bring this new platform to life. As part of this project, the Louisville plant will expand by 52,000 square feet and secure 2,200 jobs. The first UVP product will be a 4-door electric pickup with a targeted base price of $30,000 and going on sale in 2027. Ford says it will have more passenger space than a Toyota RAV-4 and be faster than an Ecoboost Mustang while having a frunk and truck bed. Ford is taking the inspiration for the Universal Vehicle Platform from the Model-T built over 100 years ago. The idea is that Ford will have one platform that supports multiple body styles. While the first vehicle is a mid-size truck, the platform is destined to support sedans, crossovers, and sports cars. The platform reduces parts by 20%, uses 25% fewer fasteners, and 4,000 fewer feet of wiring than Ford's first-gen electric SUV, the Ford Mach-E. With this new innovation, Ford is again innovating the production line as it did with the Model-T. Instead of using a single line, Ford will move to a production tree, three parallel lines move sub-assemblies down simultaneously and then joined together mid-way through. Ford is using large, single-piece aluminum castings to allow the frond and rear of the vehicle to be assembled separately. Ford predicts that this new process will speed vehicle assembly by up to 40%. Some of that savings will be redirected to quality control for a net speed increase of 15%. The big bet Ford is making is on new prismatic LFP batteries, built in the United States. These new batteries are cobalt-free and nickle-free, greatly increasing the sustainability of the batteries' construction. The battery pack is structural to the vehicle, giving a lower center of gravity and greater interior space.2 points

Subaru unveiled the all-new 2027 Getaway at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, a three-row battery-electric SUV that brings 420 horsepower and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to every trim level. The Getaway is the most powerful production Subaru ever built and the brand's fourth BEV, with seating for up to seven, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and a 95.8-kWh battery rated for more than 300 miles of range. Buyers shopping the three-row electric family SUV segment may notice some familiar numbers in the Getaway's spec sheet: the 95.8-kWh battery, 45.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the third row folded, and 15.9 cubic feet with it upright are the same figures found in the 2027 Toyota Highlander EV, which shares platform underpinnings with the Getaway through the longstanding Toyota-Subaru development partnership. Where the Getaway distinguishes itself is powertrain output (420 horsepower versus the Highlander's 338) and its across-the-board Symmetrical AWD with a mechanical connection between axles. Powertrain and Range The 2027 Getaway uses dual electric motors producing 420 combined horsepower, enough to reach 60 mph in under 5 seconds. The 95.8-kWh battery is rated for more than 300 miles of range, and a standard NACS charging port supports up to 150-kW DC fast charging, bringing the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. Battery preconditioning is standard and maintains charging performance in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, a practical feature that many competitors make optional. A standard-range model with a 77.0-kWh battery will also be available in 2027; Subaru has not yet released range or pricing details for that configuration. Capability Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is standard on all Getaway trim levels, with a mechanical connection between the front and rear axles. X-MODE Dual-Mode with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings, Grip Control, and Downhill Assist Control are also standard, along with 8.3 inches of ground clearance. Towing capacity is rated at 3,500 pounds. Interior and Cargo Three-row seating for up to seven is available with a second-row bench seat; second-row captain's chairs (seating six) are standard or optional depending on trim level. Subaru claims six-footers can sit comfortably in all three rows. One-touch second-row folding and power-folding third-row seats are standard across the lineup. With the third row folded, cargo space measures 45.6 cubic feet, slightly more than the Kia EV9. Third-row-upright capacity is 15.9 cubic feet. Three-zone climate control, dedicated third-row vents, USB-C charging ports in every row, cup holders at every seat, and customizable ambient lighting are standard. An available panoramic moonroof is offered on certain trim levels, and heated front seats come standard. Heated second- and third-row seats, ventilated front and second-row seats, and a 360-degree heated steering wheel are available on higher trims. Technology A 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard, paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Two 15W wireless smartphone chargers are available up front, in addition to four USB-C ports for rear passengers. Five drive modes are available, including a customizable individual setting. EyeSight driver assistance is standard across all trims, covering pre-collision braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane change assist, and emergency stop assist. Higher trim levels add front cross-traffic alert, intelligent park assist, and a digital rearview mirror. The daytime running lights also serve as a charging status indicator when the vehicle is plugged in. The 2027 Subaru Getaway arrives at dealers in late 2026. Pricing has not been announced.1 point

New York - At the 2026 New York International Auto Show, Kia introduced the 2027 EV3, an entry-level electric SUV that brings the design language and technology of the EV9 into a smaller, more attainable package. The EV3 arrives in five trims — Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT — with a targeted on-sale date of late 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to launch. Two Batteries, Real Range The EV3 is built on Kia's 400V E-GMP platform with a choice of two battery options. The entry Light trim uses a 58.3 kWh pack with front-wheel drive and up to a Kia-estimated 220 miles of range. The remaining four trims step up to an 81.4 kWh battery with up to a Kia-estimated 320 miles of range in FWD configuration. All-wheel drive is optional on Wind and Land and standard on GT-Line and GT. Output is 261 horsepower on AWD models and 288 horsepower on the GT, which adds a sport-tuned suspension and steering along with neon green brake calipers, seatbelts, and interior accents. The 58.3 kWh battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 29 minutes on a DC fast charger; the 81.4 kWh battery takes approximately 31 minutes. A native NACS port is standard, and Plug and Charge capability allows charging to begin by simply plugging in after a one-time setup in the Kia Access app. EV9 Design Language The EV3's exterior borrows directly from the EV9, including the star map DRL, hidden rear door handles, and flush-mounted roof rails. Standard wheels are 17-inch alloys; GT-Line and GT step up to 19-inch wheels, with the GT receiving unique 19-inch wheels to match its green caliper accents. A U.S.-exclusive Nightfall appearance package is available on certain trims, adding gloss black wheels, black emblems, bridge-type roof rails, and a dark gray interior. Interior, Cargo, and V2L Inside, the EV3 mirrors the EV9's cockpit with a nearly 30-inch panoramic display: dual 12.3-inch screens plus a 5-inch climate display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims, and the ccNC system supports over-the-air updates. Available entertainment includes Netflix and YouTube streaming, along with display themes for Disney, Marvel, the NBA, and FIFA World Cup 2026. Cargo capacity is 26.1 cubic feet behind the second row, expanding to 56.5 cubic feet with the seats folded. The EV3 also includes a 0.9 cubic foot frunk. Rear seat backs recline up to 39 degrees. Available Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) allows the battery to power external devices; available Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) via a Wallbox bidirectional charger can return power to the home during outages. Kia's i-Pedal 3.0 one-pedal driving system is standard and now also functions in reverse. Safety All EV3 models include eight standard airbags including rear side airbags, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. Available systems include Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist. New York - The second-generation 2027 Kia Seltos made its North American debut at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, arriving longer, wider, and with something no competitor in the compact crossover segment can match: three distinct powertrain options. Three Powertrains The base engine carries over as the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder, paired with Kia's Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). Available in LX, S, EX, and X-Line trims, it comes with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. Step up to the X-Line and the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder develops 190 horsepower, routed through an 8-speed automatic with standard all-wheel drive. Rounding out the lineup is a new hybrid powertrain, pairing a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Seltos HEV also introduces e-AWD, a first for Kia on a hybrid SUV, delivering on-demand rear-axle power without a traditional driveshaft. Kia is reserving HEV performance figures and pricing for a later date. The 2.0-liter and 1.6T are targeted to arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of 2026. The HEV follows in late 2026. Bigger and More Capable The new Seltos grows in every dimension compared to the outgoing model, with the wheelbase increasing by 2.4 inches. That extra footprint translates into more interior space, including an inch of additional rear legroom, along with gains in headroom, shoulder room, and hip room. Cargo capacity behind the second row is an estimated 27.8 cubic feet, expanding to 64.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Ground clearance rises from 7.3 to an available 8.1 inches. X-Line models add a new Multi-terrain AWD mode for light off-road use. Styling borrows cues from Kia's flagship Telluride, including amber DRL framing the front fascia, bold angles, and available auto-flush door handles. New exterior colors include Terrain Brown, Frost Blue, and Snow White Pearl with a contrasting black roof. Standard wheels are 16-inch alloys; the X-Line 2.0L steps up to 18-inch alloys, and the X-Line 1.6T and X-Line HEV with e-AWD receive 19-inch black wheels. Technology Inside, the ccNC infotainment system features a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen. An optional configuration pairs it with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 5-inch climate control display, totaling nearly 30 inches of combined screens, matching what Kia offers in larger vehicles. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims, and the system supports over-the-air updates. Available entertainment features include streaming for Disney+, Netflix, and YouTube, along with customizable display themes for all 30 NBA teams and select Disney brands. The HEV trim uses a stalk-mounted gear selector borrowed from the Telluride and EV9, freeing up the center console for open storage. Advanced Safety Standard on all 2027 Seltos models is Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and front and rear Parking Distance Warning. Available features include a 360-degree Surround View Monitor and a Blind-Spot View Monitor that displays a live video feed of the corresponding blind spot when the turn signal is activated. Exterior Design and Color Options The i3 sedan will continue with having the customizable lighting effects for the exterior allowing the owner to create their own Welcome and Goodbye animations depending on the equipment level. The optional BMW Iconic Glow exterior package offers Balanced, Relaxed, and Excited options or customize to their individual personal taste. The BMW i3 Sedan has 11 different exterior paint options available at launch with their newest M Le Castellet Blue color. The paint colors come in your choice of Solid, Frozen, and metallic finishes. This equates to gloss, matte, and metallic. Interior and Neue Klasse Cockpit The Neue Klasse design language gives buyers an interior that is dynamic, airy, and modern with a driver-oriented, digital 21st century experience. This includes a complete redesigned user interaction, and a harmonious interplay of geometry, light and sound. BMW says this gives a digital and real content merge through their coordinated design of ambient light, and the graphics on the central display along with the BMW panoramic Vision. From the Climate comfort Panoramic glass roof to the large windows enclosing the interior, creates a comforting space flooded with light and openness feeling. Driver orientation is one of precise intuitive experience due to the panoramic Vision display and optional 3D head-up display displayed directly into the line of sight for the driver. This eliminates the need for displays behind the steering wheel which is now completely redesigned. The driver has angled to them from the center of the dash what BMW calls free-cut central display. The i3 sedan comes with elegant seats that provide comfort and secure lateral support with optional sport seats. All seats can have optional multifunction features along with expressive designs and distinctive sport bolsters of choice. Between the seats is everything both driver and passenger would want from cup holders to inductive wireless charging, physical buttons, gear selector and more. From recycled materials and Vegan upholstery to leather are options for designing your interior. This interior is all supported by BMW OSx operating system that includes Amazon Alexa with AI technology supplying you your own BMW Intelligent Personal assistant that offers voice control over the i3. 800V Technology and Smart Connectivity BMW offers the ability to connect your smartphone or smartwatch and use it as a preferred vehicle key. The new 800V EVs all use the Android Open-Source Project (AOSP). This 800V system is 20 times higher computer power than previous BMW EVs. The whole 800V system is updated via over the air updates. This BMW 800V all new system has L2+ driver assistance systems from self-driving to safety features. This new system also offers the new BMW Charging revolution that offers the following innovations: Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): This turns the new BMW i3 into a mobile power bank that provides electricity directly from the high-voltage battery. For example, to operate an electric barbecue on a weekend trip or to charge the battery of an e-bike with up to 3.7 kW. Vehicle-to-Home (V2H): Bidirectional charging turns the BMW i3 into a home energy storage system: With Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) in conjunction with the BMW Wallbox Professional and a photovoltaic system, vehicle charging costs and electricity costs throughout the household are reduced. For this purpose, excess energy from the photovoltaic system is temporarily stored in the vehicle battery and is later fed back into the house when there is no solar power. Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G): V2G allows the BMW i3 to be integrated into the public power grid and feed energy from the vehicle's high-voltage battery back into the system. Individual control using the My BMW App is simple and transparent. Customers always have full control over their current and desired charge levels. Battery life is safeguarded by intelligent protection mechanisms. Intelligent Charging With NACS The 800V i3 and iX3 comes with Intelligent charging flap. The charging port is located on the rear right side of the new BMW i3. It is possible to open the charging flap manually by simply pressing, but this is no longer necessary. Because the intelligent charging flap of the new BMW i3 opens automatically as soon as the customer's charging request is detected. One of the triggers for opening is AI-supported: If the customer walks towards a known or learned charging point, the movement path reveals the charging intention, whereupon the flap opens. If no charging cable is connected, the charging flap closes automatically – as it does after the charging process is complete or when the vehicle is ready to drive. The all new 800V EVs come with NACS ports by default now. More details will be released as availability at dealerships happens. Colors and Customization Rivian has a selection of new colors that go with the existing Midnight, Glacier White, Forest Green, Borealis and Launch Green (available for a limited time with Launch Package). Catalina Cove: Exclusive to R2, like the waters that surround Catalina Island, this metallic paint shifts from deep Pacific blues to translucent greens in the light. Esker Silver: Inspired by the winding ridges of gravel and sand that glaciers leave behind, fine metallic flakes bring depth to this shimmering silver. Half Moon Grey: This metallic grey is inspired by the coastal cliffs of Half Moon Bay — layers of granite and sandstone shifting in warm light. Wheels and Tires Customization of one's ride is supported with a selection of wheels and tire packages, all are a 32" overall diameter. 19" Machined Graphite All-Season: Aluminum wheels with a bright machined finish and graphite metallic pockets. With Pirelli all-season tires for versatile performance in all kinds of conditions. 20" Bicolor Carbon All-Season: Aluminum wheels with satin machined details and satin carbon pockets are paired with Pirelli all-season tires for a blend of range and performance. 20" Black Sand All-Terrain: Forged aluminum machined face wheels with dark satin tint and black pockets. With Pirelli all-season tires, this combo is best for maximizing range and on-road performance. Interior Design R2 Performance and Premium trims feature two signature interiors defined by a tactile blend of Birch wood accents and organic textures. Black Crater Signature — Inspired by the dynamic dark tones of volcanic rock, this interior is crafted with upcycled Birch wood and textile accents. This creates an inviting, dark tonal environment that seamlessly blends rugged durability with a refined, minimalist aesthetic. Coastal Cloud Signature — Open and airy, the crisp tones of cool and cloudy coastal sky are warmed with upcycled Birch wood and soft textile accents. This palette offers a modern aesthetic that is grounded in Rivian's nature-inspired design language. For Standard trim: Black Crater — Featuring dark volcanic tones, a light and airy headliner and natural fiber accents, for an interior that feels both expansive and welcoming. Cabin Space and Storage The interior maximizes every square inch, delivering premium views and a comfortable experience for up to five adults with zero bad seats in the cabin. Open-Air Freedom: A hallmark of the R2 design is the rear drop glass window that lowers completely into the liftgate. With the touch of a button, drivers can drop all windows to allow for flow-through breezes or easily haul long gear like surfboards (included only on Performance and Premium trims). Smart Storage: With 90.1 cubic feet of total enclosed storage, R2 easily adapts to your gear. The class-leading front trunk with 5.2 cu ft of space fits a carry-on and large backpack, dual glove boxes provide maximum organization, and the fold-flat rear seats create a level loading surface for bikes and camping gear. Off-Road Capability and Dimensions 2,000 lbs lighter than the R1 and sitting on a shorter wheelbase (115.6 in), R2 is incredibly responsive and maneuverable in urban environments. Despite its nimbleness, it retains Rivian's off-road DNA. Adventure-oriented EV buyers may also want to compare the 2027 Scout Traveler & Terra, which targets a similar rugged EV SUV market. Best-in-Class Stance: Features 9.6 inches of ground clearance, a 25° approach angle, and a 26° departure angle. Dynamic Drive Experience: R2 achieves a planted, connected-to-the-road feel through a low center of gravity enabled by its structural battery pack. This foundation is enhanced by a semi-active suspension (unique to Performance trim) that delivers superior handling and precision across both on- and off-road terrain. Technology and Driver Assistance R2 marks the evolution of the software-defined vehicle: an AI-ready architecture that pairs 5G-connected, offline-capable processing with tactile, haptic hardware. Built on a multi-modal perception stack—featuring 11 HDR cameras with a combined 65MP and a sophisticated five-radar system—the R2 delivers a leap in hardware fidelity. This foundation powers an expanding suite of driver assistance and active safety features designed for a drive that feels as advanced as it operates. Designed for the Road Ahead: Rivian Autonomy+&sup7; ($49.99/month or $2,500/one-time) hardware is built into all R2 trims and service is optional across the lineup (lifetime access to Autonomy+ included&sup5; with Launch Package), bringing L2+ hands-free assisted driving to 3.5 million miles of roads across the U.S. and Canada with Universal Hands-Free&sup6;. Every Rivian comes standard with a system that continuously evolves with each software update, getting smarter right from your driveway, and foundational active safety and driver assistance features. All new R2 deliveries include a 60-day trial of Autonomy+. AI Powerhouse: R2 is outfitted with 200 sparse TOPS of edge AI compute dedicated to the in-cabin experience. This includes enabling the forthcoming Rivian Assistant—Rivian's in-vehicle voice assistant that understands you, your vehicle and your context—to smoothly run complex tasks locally on the edge, even if the vehicle is offline. Haptic Halo Wheels: At the center of the R2 driving experience is a redesigned steering wheel featuring haptic 'halo' dials. These dynamic and context-aware controls—capable of scrolling, pushing, pulling and tilting—provide distinct physical responses for multiple functions, bridging the gap between digital software and tactile hardware to keep the driver's focus on the horizon. Both the physical wheels and underlying haptic technology were designed in-house. Dual Digital Displays: R2 offers flexibility and control with two displays—a driver display in front of the steering wheel for more utility on the road, and the center display for a deeper dive into features. Software Updates: Rivian builds vertically-integrated hardware and software, enabling your vehicle to gain meaningful updates via software right from your driveway. R2 evolves this vertically integrated approach with a new, streamlined electrical architecture that delivers more capability with less complexity, providing ample headroom for the future. To say that Porsche has delivered a technological milestone with the 2026 Cayenne would be an understatement. The fully electric SUV combines traditional Porsche DNA with cutting edge technology that proves Porsche is a pioneer in EV technology. Let's get the specifics that you all want to know out of the way: Horsepower of up to 1,084 ponies & up to 1,106 lb.-ft of torque 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds 0 to 124 mph in 7.4 seconds Ultra-Fast charging achieving 80% in 16 minutes for base and 10 minutes for Turbo models 399 miles of battery range Let's look at the horsepower side of things, in normal mode you get 844 ponies and a button on the steering wheel "Push-to-Pass" that releases the rest of the ponies for up to 10 seconds on a push of the button. This is all based on the Turbo model. The entry-level Cayenne has 402 horsepower and 615 lb.-ft of torque. The entry level model can achieve 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 143 mph. The Cayenne EV has incorporated their Formula E technology. Here Porsche is leading with 600 kW of energy recuperative power. 97% of all braking operations can be handled by the electric motors, the mechanical friction brakes rarely need to intervene, Porsche does offer a Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) as an upgrade option for those that wish to have added braking for track day. The Formula E technology continues in the Cayenne EV product line having adaptive air suspension or what Porsche calls Active Suspension Management (PASM). For the Turbo trim, you get PTV Plus or Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, a limited-slip rear differential. Both models can be had with rear-axle steering of up to 5 degrees. Innovation in charging is where Porsche leads the industry again in that the 2026 models have a newly developed 113 kWh high-voltage battery pack that comes with double-sided cooling for optimal thermal management. This contributes to the base Cayenne getting 399 miles of range and the Turbo getting 387 miles of range. Porsche has enhanced their 800V technology so that the Cayenne is capable of 390 to 400 kW of high-speed charging allowing the battery pack to go from 10% to 80% in 16 minutes for the Cayenne base or 10 minutes for the Turbo model. The Cayenne EV is also the first Porsche to get the Optional Inductive Charging system that charges up to 11 kW. This wireless charging system requires only that the user park above the Floor plate for automatic charging. The Porsche Cayenne continues the family tradition of EVs with its unique Matrix LED headlights, Frameless doors, and contrasting elements that include a 3D look on the light strips for a modern distinct look. Porsche also has an Off-road package that can be added to give not only a unique look but improve on the approach and departure angles and robustness that off-road driving can demand. The Porsche Cayenne has a 0.25 drag coefficient. It is 2.16 inches longer than the ICE model and has a 5 inch longer wheelbase allowing for greater rear leg room and comfort over the ICE. The Cayenne EV has a Frunk with 3.17 cubic feet of room. Overall interior space from the base luggage capacity of 27.5 cubic feet with all seats up to a large 56 cubic feet with the back row seats folded down. This powertrain platform allows the Cayenne to have a 3.5-ton towing capacity. Porsche brings comfort and individuality to the Cayenne with a variety of options from the Panoramic Roof, variable lighting, Mood Modes, Panel heating, 13 standard colors, 9 wheel design choices, 12 interior combinations and so much more. The Cayenne has the largest display area in any Porsche; the Flow Display is a curved OLED panel that gives the driver a 14.25 driver display and another one for the digital controls / Navigation system. There is an optional 14.9 display for the front seat passenger. This is all complemented by an AR technology heads up display. The digital OLED display is complimented by traditional buttons and switches for heat, air conditioning, audio volume and more. The driver also gets an ergonomic hand rest to control all the digital and analogue elements of the auto. The electric Cayenne is available to order now with delivery starting in Q1 of 2026. Now in entering its third generation for Mazda, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 has grown in this latest redesign. Adding 4.5-inches in length and wheelbase, and nearly an inch in width, the new CX-5 is able to increase interior roominess significantly while adding new technology. While it maintains a mainstream price, the CX-5 has always felt closer to a luxury-class vehicle than its direct competition and that trait carries over to this new model. Externally, the CX-5 recipe is a familiar and natural evolution over its predecessor. The redesign brings the look in line with its larger cousins, the CX-70 and CX-90, and Mazda includes interesting curvaceous bodywork without looking overwrought. Across the back, Mazda is spelled out in chrome letters, replacing the more traditional Mazda logo. Interior space was one of the drawbacks of the previous model, but while exact dimensions haven't been released, Mazda claims a significant improvement in passenger and cargo capacity. Rear passengers gain legroom and ingress and egress is made easier with much larger door openings. The cargo area is two inches deeper, over an inch taller, and has a lower lift over height for loading. Rear passengers now have access to dual USB-C chargers and, if equipped, outboard heated seats. Mazda's interiors have always been minimalist and subtle in design. The new interior features materials and finishes crafted to suggest a timeless quality. The base infotainment screen has been upgraded to a 12.9-inch unit standard, replacing the prior 10.3-inch screen, while a 15.6-inch screen is also available on certain trims. The new system is powered by Google Built-In, the connected system allows access to a curated Google Play app store so drivers can customize their driving experience. While the rotary button from the prior model has been removed for a full-touch screen experience, the pictures with the 15.6-inch screen also show no physical buttons, meaning that volume and HVAC controls may be entirely touchscreen based. Removal of physical buttons has been met with backlash from consumers at other brands. Mazda does retain the standard console gear selector, no dials, buttons, or column stalks here. Powering the 2026 Mazda CX-5 is the same 2.5-liter Skyactive naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder as the prior model, but with some software tweaks to add verve. This unit produces 187-horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque and mated to a carry-over 6-speed automatic. There is no word on the previously available 256-horsepower Turbo 4-cylinder that still available in the CX-50, so assume for now that it is done. Mazda says that a new hybrid option will join the lineup the following year with an in-house hybrid design rather than the Toyota unit the CX-50 hybrid uses. For now, Mazda is a bit light on details like trims, dimensions, and pricing. Since the CX-5 will still be manufactured in Japan, the tariff situation caused by Trump could make pricing unpredictable. We expect to hear more as the on-sale date next spring approaches.1 point

There's no denying that the Ford Maverick has been a smash hit for Ford, with sales increasing dramatically in its first 4 years on the market. At its base price, the Maverick is Ford's least pricey vehicle, but Ford has introduced a full range of trim lines, powertrain options, and colors so that customers can build the compact truck of their dreams. Focus ST Parts, Truck Platform For 2025, Ford introduced the Lobo trim for the Maverick, a sport oriented street-truck trim that reminisces about the sport trucks from the 90s and early 2000s. Unlike some other "sport" trims, the Maverick Lobo actually has some bite. Ford Engineers raided the parts bins of some of their storied performance vehicles to build the Lobo. The 8-speed automatic has been replaced with a 7-speed unit from the European Ford Focus ST and calibrated specifically for the Maverick. The transmission and oil coolers from the 4k towing package are installed to keep things cool though towing with the Lobo is limited to 2,000 lbs. Stopping is managed by dual-piston calipers, also from the Ford Focus ST. The all-wheel drive system is poached from the off-road oriented Maverick Tremor and features a twin-clutch torque vectoring rear unit, while steering rack is a retuned version from the European Ford Kuga. The suspension is retuned for sportier driving and lowered 0.5-inches in the front and 1.1-inches in the rear. The only engine available is the same 2.0-liter Ecoboost available on most other Mavericks, detuned this year to 238 horsepower from 250 due to the addition of an exhaust particulate filter, however it still makes a healthy 275 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 RPM. When getting rowdy on a track, drivers can activate Lobo-mode that changes the transmission shift points, throttle response, and torque vectoring while dialing back on stability control. Ford says that Lobo-Mode should be thought of like Mustang's Track-Mode, and should only be used on closed courses. While Lobo means "Wolf" in Spanish, he 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo is not wearing sheep's clothing. The Lobo gets a unique and menacing looking shovel nose grille, a unique body-color lower fascia, and rolls on 19-inch black turbine wheels. A black painted roof is there by default, but as on my tester, it can be deleted to body color. Only one interior color choice is available in the Lobo, Black Onyx, but it comes with unique dual-contrast stitching and embossed Lobo details. Even with the dark colors, the interior doesn't feel stark as there are plenty of blue trim and interior detailing to keep things interesting. Lone Wolf Manufacturers left the street-sport truck niche over a decade ago deciding instead to focus their special models on off-road prowess. The Maverick's sole competitor in the compact pickup segment, the Hyundai Santa Cruz, doesn't come with a street-sport trim. To sample Ford's restoration of this segment of the market, I traveled on a particularly rainy day to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania for a day of testing with Ford and other brands. While weather and road conditions prevented me from pushing the Maverick Lobo to anything close to an extreme, I still came away very impressed. Ford engineers took these performance parts and made the Lobo a true next generation street truck. The ride is firm without being harsh, and this wolf always feels ready to pounce. Corner lean is nearly non-existent at sane speeds. Steering turn-in is fantastic and responsive, there are sports sedans with sloppier steering than what's in the Lobo. In casual driving, you can hustle the little truck up a wet, windy mountain road at speeds faster than you probably should. The one area enthusiasts might miss is the lack of bark. The sound and exhaust uses the same inside-voice tuning that all other turbo Mavericks get. Keeping in mind that this truck more for autocross than drag racing, forget about the 238-horsepower rating and instead focus on the 275 lb-ft @3,000 rpm available. In standard drive mode, the 7-speed automatic does its job in a crisp, business-like fashion, but in sport mode it is far more generous with downshifts, letting you dig deeper into that thick turbocharged torque curve. Lobo mode, though untested on my trip, allows the transmission to hold those lower gears longer even with a lift of the throttle which is where that torque vectoring gets activated when necessary. Except for the open-air trunk out back and the upright, elevated setting position, piloting the Maverick Lobo through the curvy mountain roads feels remarkably similar to any mildly hot hatch out there, and that in itself is an accomplishment. Part of the Pack The bones of the Maverick Lobo are obviously still all Maverick. As part of the 2025 model year, Ford included a bunch of updates across the Maverick lineup. The center screen has been updated to a new 13.2-inch unit, replacing the rather modest 8-inch screen from earlier years. Graphics appear clear and crisp and the new Sync4 system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto operated smoothly during my test. All 2025 models now include a WiFi hotspot that allows Sync4 to receive over-the-air updates. HVAC controls are, unfortunately, primarily touchscreen based. In other trims, the Hybrid is now available with all-wheel drive and an optional 4k towing package. There are two phone storage spots in a compartment under the screen, one of which is powered with a wireless charging mat, an option available in the 702A equipment package. One thing I struggle with when first getting in any Maverick is the seating position. It does take me a minute to get it configured to a position I feel comfortable, and yet something still feels off. That feeling dissipates as I get a few miles down the road when suddenly I realize that everything just fits. If you are test driving a Maverick for the first time and something doesn't feel right, just give it a few miles before making any rash decisions. The one exception to this is the screen that feels oddly angled downward, but that may just be due to my height. Room for two is fantastic. Room for four is good for a compact crew cab, but will feel snug for those long of leg. Don't expect to haul 4 full-size Americans on a long trip comfortably. 702A Equipment Package and Pricing The Lobo is based off the Maverick XLT trim and includes all of the Lobo trim performance and appearance features as well as Ford CoPilot360. My tester was equipped with the 702A equipment package, a $5,495 upgrade, roughly equivalent to a Lariat-trim that includes: 400W Inverter (Cab + Bed Includes Cubby Cover) with USB Console Rear Acoustic Windshield All-Weather Floor Liners, Front and Rear (with Carpet Mats) Ambient Lighting Bed Tie Down Locking Rails with Two (2) Locking Bracket Bedliner – Tough Bed Spray-in B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® with HD Radio™ (8 Speakers Including Subwoofer) Connected Navigation (1-year included) Dual Rear USB Dual-zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control Ford Co-Pilot360® Assist 2.0 Heated Seats Heated Steering Wheel Power Moonroof Power-Sliding Rear Window Visors – Driver and Front Passenger – Illuminated Wireless Charging Pad Pro Trailer Backup Assist Pro Trailer Hitch Assist After destination charges, the 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo comes in at $37,625. My tester with the 702A Equipment package rang up to $42,325. That may seem high, but with so much equipment included and the lack of competition, I still think it is a fair price. However, the Maverick is built in Mexico and is being impacted by tariffs, so that price could fluctuate in the future. With the market's shift away from cars towards trucks and SUVs, the hot hatch segment dwindled significantly, however the Ford Maverick Lobo makes a very compelling case as an equipment substitution. I'm sure Ford will sell every one they can build. Check out the 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo photo gallery for more shots from our rainy Pocono Mountain test drive. #IMPASpringBrake1 point

First added to the gas Silverado in 2019, the Trail Boss trim is one of Silverado's most popular trims. Adding Trail Boss to the Silverado EV is just a natural evolution for the model. Trail Boss Off-Road Upgrades Silverado EV Trail Boss comes with a factory 2-inch lift with coil spring and hydraulic shocks giving the truck a 24% higher ground clearance than the standard EV. Exclusive to the Trail Boss is a new Terrain mode that unlocks sharper 4-wheel steering allowing for extra maneuverability at low speeds. Sidewinder mode from the RST model allows all four wheels to turn the same direction to move the truck diagonally at low speeds. Special looks include a high-angle approach front fascia, standard 35-inch all-terrain tires with unique 18-inch wheels, a unique interior, and red front tow hooks. In Trail Boss form, the truck is only offered in extended and max range battery sizes. Even with the 2-inch lift, Chevy claims the same 410-mile range for the Extended and 478-mile range for the Max. Max towing tops out at 12,500 lb. with a 2,100 lb. max payload. The Max Range battery pack also offers up to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque when Wide Open Watts mode is selected. Refreshing the Rest of the Lineup All Silverado EVs also get some driver assist updates when equipped with Super Cruise. Super Cruise can now navigate the truck to the correct lane for your route when using the integrated Google Maps app on Super Cruise-capable roads. When not on a Super Cruise enabled road, the system will work in hands-on mode, centering you in your lane and adapting to the speed of the vehicle ahead of you. Super Cruise will automatically take over once you reach an enabled road. For trucks equipped with Adaptive Cruise, the system can now automatically adjust speed based on posted speed limits. Chevy is ending the RST trim starting with the 2026 model year with just WT, LT, and Trail Boss trims available going forward. The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss joins the lineup this summer with a price of $72,095 for the Extended and $88,695 for the Max Range. Prices include destination charge. The United States and United Kingdom have reached a deal on vehicle import tariffs into the U.S. that could serve as a model for future deals between the U.S. and other countries. As part of a larger trade deal, the UK will get preferential treatment on auto tariffs for the first 100,000 vehicles imported. Import tariffs, which started on April 3rd for UK vehicles, are currently at 25-percent and will be reduced to 10-percent on that first 100,000 units annually. The U.K. conversely agreed to lower its tariffs from 5.1-percent to 1.8-percent. The U.S. also dropped tariffs on U.K. steel. While 10-percent on vehicles is still four times the 2.5-percent charged prior to April 3rd, it is likely to still be a lower tax than those levied on many vehicles imported from Mexico or Canada that contain only 50-percent U.S. made parts. The 25-percent Tariffs on auto parts appear to remain in place. While Jaguar and Land Rover are the obvious benefactors of this trade agreement, Nissan has manufacturing facilities in the U.K. that could be utilized for production in North America. Previously, the Nissan plant in Sunderland, England produced the Infiniti QX30 for North America. The plant currently produces the Nissan Juke and Nissan Qashqai (Rogue Sport), neither of which are still sold in the U.S. Honda closed their UK manufacturing facility in 2021.1 point

IONNA is a fledgling charging network with big goals, 30,000 charging bays by the end of 2030 with just five years to accomplish it. Their first IONNA Rechargery broke ground in October of 2024 and the network came out of beta just in February this year, IONNA's shorter-term goal is for 1,000 charging bays open by the end of 2025. In April, IONNA opened six new Rechargeries, doubling their location footprint to 12 locations with 120 charging bays. The number of Rechargeries under construction is more than double their current footprint with another 15 locations under active construction. Back in February, IONNA had announced 100 locations under contract. That number in April has doubled to 200 locations with an additional 2,000 charging bays agreed on and in the pipeline. Late last year IONNA partnered with gas-station chain Sheetz in a strategic partnership to add Rechargeries at more than 50 Sheetz locations in the Eastern and Midwestern US. As part of this growth plan and to get the word out about their new network, IONNA is offering "Friends and Family" pricing to everyone at all IONNA stations with no subscriptions or additional fees. IONNA's founding member companies have begun rolling out Plug & Charge to select vehicles allowing for easy transactions through their respective branded apps. Additionally, some founding manufacturers are offering discounts at IONNA stations. BMW: Plug & Charge already live today.
