  1. Please stop...the Magnum's a better driver's car.
  2. Thanks to the Dodge Magnum for reminding the people that wagons are cool too... a sig from Volvospeed, a forum similar to ours. More later.
  3. Of course they can....you can load then in the back with so many gadgets, from stereos to computers to game systems to coolers/fridges, plus really plush seating and bedding....you basically can have a personal limo of sorts. I could just imagine if 310 or West Coast Customs (while not thinking in the Pimp My Ride manner, that is) took one and went nuts. There's a local brother who's probably in his early 40s or something with a green GM conversion (the 96-02, you know, the one with the nose that ISN'T ugly?)...blinds on all the rear windows, and nice big dub spinners (not the gaudy kind, just some simple fluted style dish wheels)....I know that man lounges lovely in that thing....if he's single. edit/add on I forgot to make: Everyone has this image of vans these days that has basically been formed by the minivan and the marketing thereof as being for no one but frumpy mothers who have no interest in fun or style, just taking the kids to school and their activities. Absolute appliance of surrender. If these minivans were panel versions or at least conversions (anything but rigidly six-seven seat front-drive peoplemovers painted in pedestrian colors), you could see the full potential. And full-size vans have it even worse, having been relegated to the working man crowd and kidnappers. TV and its power of influence have really held the imaginations of the people hostage, making one think you don't have a vehicle you can hang your hat on if it isn't a four-door sedan, four-door pickup, or four-door SUV.
  4. Imagine what these could look like with modern customizing ideas applied and those corny Auto Zone tack-ons removed. I wanted to build an 80s SWB Econoline panel with 20s and a proper lowering job, with all the modern entertainment crap inside, just for kicks...no running boards, no tack-ons, no murals. But that would be more like a fourth vehicle or something, as I have too many car dreams to fulfill first.
  5. It's a good idea for Mercedes to back away from trying to innovate in the electronics, since they've been drowning in the bottom of the quality ratings pool. I think the brand-new stuff is better tried on the cheaper brands, where if it doesn't work, those types of cars are usually throwaway anyway....
  6. Aren't a lot of these cars basically total losses sitting in the water or under debris right about now?
  7. But one has to admit, the extent of how anti-Japanese car compaies the folks on this site are is pretty juvenile. I know, I know, the idiots at the import and the general-interest sites got enough to say about GM and American cars in general too....but I think that should be fought with taking the high road.
  8. Is BMW getting recognition of THAT nature?
  9. More: Here's a cool British one: Ok, that's enough.
  10. Figured I'd add something to the proceedings (apologies for the size issues): They don't hook them up like they used to.... One located in Australia:

I just knew that wasn't going to go uncommented on...
  12. Cool with me....once I finally find a digital camera, I'm getting a GANG of crap out of this house....
  13. I remember the commercial for the Turbo Trans Am here in this region, but never saw one on the street in my detail-attentive adult life....
  14. That's a violent visual....
  15. Someone post or PM me and school me on selling. I know that paypal (who I'm already registered with) will take a cut, and I know it helps to have pics of some sort. But how much does it cost to post something; how many items can you post that are tied to your account; is whatever you post guaranteed to sell; and what comes first, getting paid for the item, or shipping the item to the person? I got all kinds of stuff I'm ready to get rid of, from records to crap in the garage to the car.
  16. It reminds me of giving a Ferrari 4 front wheels.
  17. Kept forgetting to mention how I saw a white Cougar (the last generation sports-coupe version) dropped with a chrome muffler and some three-piece (style) boy-racer wheels.....all I could think of (besides how clean and cool the car itself looked) was how inspiring a G6 coupe done the same way could be.

    Watch the wording!!
  19. It's nuce to see that everyone thinks of Phoenix as the 80-85 cheeseball, as opposed to the 75-79 Nova-based car with the interesting nose and infinite possibilities. Grand Am began as an A-body car based on the 73-77 LeMans....almost like a GTO trim level, without using the GTO name on such a big car (around this time was when it was moved to the Ventura, I believe) It's also nice to know that Canadians can influence us to hate the Tempest name because it got stuck to a rebadged Corsica out there.... LeMans might have been the best for this car, as one could have drummed up a GT1 version of the coupe and made things really interesting. But oh well, it's a G6, and I can live with that.
  20. Pontiac should really get the Astra hatches...but no one feels me on this one, believing they should go to Saturn.
  21. Haven't seen anything as of this post, I'm just upping the thread basically.....
  22. It is what it is...there's really nothing we can do about the prices, so I'm not talking about it anymore.

I'm sayin, judging by the six-pointed Star of David on the bottles, I'm assuming the company must be run (or was at least started) by devout Jews

I'm guessing it's made by orthodox Jews, and in effect, kosher?
  25. Spotted a car I haven't noticed in quite a while: The first-gen LH Chrysler New Yorker. I was thinking yesterday how I should post about cars that we all haven't seen in a loing time, inspired by that car, then on the afternoon drive, lo and behold....
