  1. Nah, it isn't the hype...I've seen internal documents of the testing of the tanks and they just barely met the 15 mph side crash standards of their time. Getting hit by a car prolly didn't do too much due to the height mis-match, but a contact with a truck or SUV...that's a hot engine compartment going into the side of a gas tank.
  2. Mazda CX-7
  3. Exactly. You were much nicer than my intended reply of "Have you ever been to or heard of Europe? It's just a continent with lots of people who drive wagons." The sad thing is if you go back and read the last page and a half of comments, European sales justifying the wagon is pretty well-worn territory in this thread...
  4. Oops, you're right. It was the pickups that had the tank side-saddle, but not the SUVs. My bad.
  5. Your personal hangups are irrelevant.I would never be caught dead driving a minivan, but abandoning that segment is just stupid. Unless you personally generate billions of dollars in sales revenue, GM should think globally...and globally means sport wagons. I see enough Benz, BMW, Audi and Volvo wagons to know this is a segment GM is foolishly missing out on almost completely. This isn't a County Squire or Colony Park we're talking about here...it's a CTS.
  6. You were born in the 1970s? Ah, a child of lead paint and gas in Eastern Europe? Everything makes sense now...
  7. Let's just hope you don't get T-boned ever.
  8. Aren't these the side-saddle fuel tank models? Buyer beware...
  9. I love this car, so I'm happy.
  10. That's not front-page news either...
  11. I kinda thought the same thing...but this is The Detroit News. Only in Detroit have I seen something like "GM Cancels Minivans" treated as front-page news with the biggest (or 2nd biggest) headline on the page. Like this isn't really news IMO yet it's being treated like paparazzi fodder
  12. Yea thanks! It looks so much more professional than before. A+
  13. We didn't hate on you...it's more like you made some shockingly bad decisions and we called you on it. :AH-HA_wink:
  14. Dude you've been bringing the funny...You're getting an honorable mention in that other thread haha
  15. OK, I'll agree with you there.
  16. Sorry Fly, but the Vecta really isn't all that. Its biggest appeal here is as something we never got. It hasn't even been a top-seller in Europe like the Mondeo has.
  17. You mean the "Crocsucker" title? Well yea, because I think it's funny now and haven't asked for it to be changed since...last April? May?
  18. Hahahahahaha no one agrees with you so you backpedal immensely! How adorably twelve years old of you!
  19. The first four are easy for me: 1. Satty 2. Northstar 3. Nick 4. Flybrian The fifth? Hard decision 5. Sciguy Honorable mentions: BV, empowah, NOS, reg, all the mods ETA: Honorable mention to YellowJacket
  20. What a work of art! This thing wasn't just constructed, it was designed...like the Beverly Hills it needs to be driven through. Breathtakingly beautiful. The front fascia has "instant classic" written all over it. I love the semi-formal C-pillar (or is it really B-pillar in this case?). Honestly, the worst thing about it is the grey ocean view in the photography. Why not take some pictures around Santa Monica or the Palisades? The colors are much more vivid there!
  21. Why? I don't care about pageants...this is more reg territory... Oh, no I know. Perezhilton.com had the whole thing the other day. Yawn...parade of men, cocaine, lesbian kisses with Miss Teen USA...maybe I've been in LA too long but I don't see why this is news??I mean she isn't flashing She isn't high on vicadin and pot driving the wrong way on the freeways And she isn't just being a pathetic waste of (not much) space She's just a small-town Kentucky girl in the Big Apple for the first time partying like it's her job. I don't get what the big fuss is about?
  22. That kind of stupidity usually results in theft like this. Can't say I feel sorry for the guy at all. I hope he gets his car back, but let's hope he learned his lesson.
